Close selections in the same draft, who do you think has been better up to now and who would you take going forward?
I think Wagner has been a more reliable scorer, display excellent driving and finishing ability in a team with horrible spacing. He's probably easier to fit.
But I am fascinated by Giddey's less conventional skillset, and i am a bit bullish on his shooting improvements plus I think he can fill up and further improve his finishing. And I am so much of a fan of great passers that are imo often underrated.
Franz so far but Josh for the future.

Franz has been better up to now but yeah I think Giddey will end up better in future.
It's close though. It could go either way.

Re: Josh Giddey vs Franz Wagner
Franz fairly easily.
I have Giddey as always being a negative or at best neutral defender. Offensively, I see his ceiling as a better [bigger] Rubio and that player is high-end starter, low-end all-star in a weaker guard/wing season [which I doubt we see with the plethora of guards].
As for Franz, I'm still bullish on him. I see no reason he can't get to Tatum-levels on both ends of the court. Will he end up as a Top 10 player like Tatum? Unlikely but all the tools and skill is there to realize the potential.

Re: Josh Giddey vs Franz Wagner
Giddey understands basketball in ways Wagner hasn't yet shown. It may be that physically he can't become a dominant scorer or plus defender, but I'm going to give those basketball savants every chance before saying they can't. Wagner feels like one of those really good players, but who isn't ever going to be dominant. A great 3rd starter, maybe some years he's an all-star.
Wagner is probably safer, but Giddey imo represents a higher ceiling. So where is my team? Do I have my star(s) in place? Give me Wagner. Do I still need to find my best two players? I might prefer to take my chances with Giddey. I'm a sucker for basketball genius and he reeks of it.
