The other issue with Jaylen is that he doesn't score on good efficiency despite being a secondary scorer and his scoring often comes at the expense of ball movement and team offense.
SGA: .626
Mitchell: .614
Tatum: .607
Booker: .601
Fox: .599
Jaylen: .581
Then some fun comps like
KD: .697
Jaylen is a good but not elite scorer who wants the volume of an elite scorer, often at the expense of team success.
Well it issue is because people like you don't know how to use TS% properly. Applying TS% across the board uniformly instead of comparing players of similar shot charts/play styles is one example of why advanced stats get pushback.
People like you need to learn to read the entire thread because it takes maybe someone of 12 - 15 IQ to figure out why my list includes those names in the order they are in. I can trust you to meet the minimum?

My statement still applies.
The equation for TS% is Points/(FGA+.44FTA). There are multiple ways to increase one's percentage for this formula. It's not just make more shots. It can unintentionally be gamified if the player shoots a high volume of 3s and FTs while limiting mid rangers. Why go on this long tangent? Because Jaylen's playstyle isn't to force defenders to foul him like a Butler. He plays a hybrid style of Kyrie/Kawhi/DeRozan where he slashes and avoids contact by hanging in the air, shooting on the descend. If Jaylen played more of the conventional perimeter star where he emphasizes fouls drawn, his FGA would go down and FTA would go up. Mathematically, that lowers the denominator, increasing TS%.
Compare that to his contemporaries. Tatum is now muscling through defenders and their outstretched arms. Fox/Mitchell/SGA are speed demons and defenders are more likely to foul because they can't keep up. KD is the rarified uber efficient scorer who is the anomaly.
Now Booker is the one case similar to Jaylen. Similar FGA, but Booker goes to the line more and shoots less 3s. Booker has the ball more in his hands. Granted, he is one of the leagues better secondary ballhandlers. It's valid to criticize Jaylen on not making his 3s this season. It's his lowest rate of his career. Also valid to call out his average FT shooting. Saying that he is not an elite scorer is a terrible opinion and quite hypocritical of you. You know who scored 27 PPG on 58 TS% recently?Tatum last season. The one player you stan and never criticize.
