Is there a way to compare stats, taking inflation into account? Even though Big 3 era was a transition point where things were changing they weren't where we are at now.

18-5 in 24 minutes on 56% shooting, could definitely be worse lol.
Bosh never had a bad playoff game I guess, even though Bams playoff numbers trump Boshs playoff numbers in a Heat jersey.
That’s a shame, you were one of the posters I thought would at least try to build a solid argument and if it’s as one sided as some of you think for whatever reason it should be pretty easy to prove it

Per 100 possessions maybe to adjust for pace?
Bosh best season per 100:
31.5-10.5-3.2-1.4-0.8
Bams best season per 100:
29.3-15.5-5.5-2.2-1.2
or if you prefer playmaking:
27.7-13.3-8.0-1.7-1.5

Bam would still be the 3rd option like he is now, like Bosh was with the big 3 Heat. I’d be expecting his shots and usage to remain the same and playing next to Wade who is the best lob passer ever I’d actually be expecting Bam to be getting a lot more easy looks than he does now.
Was it really far more elite though? Are KG TD and Dirk with 1 foot in the door towards retirement by the time Bosh was with the Heat better than peak Giannis Jokic Embiid etc?
Let’s not forget Bosh was consistently being outplayed by guys like ROY Hibbert almost every time they played.
Luckily the advanced stats I posted arent from just the box score and show the impact both players had on winning on both sides of the ball, Bams was quite a bit higher.
That in itself shows bosh is better. If we signed bosh this season like we did in 2010 to pair with butler you can’t say bosh would take a back seat offensively to Herro.. bams lack of offense is what has him 3rd.. you can blame spo all you want and say spo doesn’t let bam shoot, but time and time again we see him with the ball when he can take a jumper but hesitates and passes out..
Well yeah we saw old man horford giving bam the fits in the playoffs last season..we watching lopez and portis give bam this fits right now like they always do.. and let’s not talk about the giannis, jokic, embiid match ups..
Bosh was already an established player when we signed him, Bams first year starting was when Herro came and Herro is payed $30M strictly to score. Bam is the better scorer and player but it is what it is, Spo has it set in his mind.
Horford gave Bam fits or the tandem of Rob and Horford did? He’s dominated them this season by the way, just as he has Lopez.
Giannis and lopez are giving Bam fits? He’s averaging 20-7-4-2 on 56% shooting in a series he didn’t play like the last 18 minutes of game 2 because we were getting blown out lol. Per36 (basically if he plays the 4th last game) he’s averaging 25-9-5-2. Could he be better? Sure, but let’s not act like he isn’t getting his either
That’s a whole different debate
everytime I see a “when guarded by bam” tweet pop up that’s why I ask was it mainly in the perimeter or in the paint.. because if giannis took 20 shots and bam guarded him on all 20.. but 15 of those shots were free throw jumpers or beyond/3’s (low percentage) and missed them all, but giannis posted up bam (high percentage) 5 times in the paint and scored on bam at will in all 5 of those, the tweet will say giannis was 5/20 when guarded by bam. Did bam really kill it tho?

Yes he killed it because if that was the case then he shut off Giannis from getting into his spots. If Gianni’s is only taking 5 shots in the paint but took 20 total shots knowing what his game is, he got locked up lol

My dude, what are you trying to get out of this thread? You want so bad for people to agree with you that Bam’s career with the Heat is better than Bosh’s limited time with the Heat? What satisfaction you trying to get out of this. Like okay let’s say Bam had a better stint, now what? He still ain’t gonna be a HOF’er or Champion like Bosh.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

What do you think Bams numbers are with 16.5 shot attempts and a 28.7 usage?
But again, this is Miami Bosh vs Bam. If Bosh is so far more skilled than Bam, shouldn’t he have been scoring on far higher efficiency in his Heat days? Especially next to LeBron and Wade who get 90% of the defensive attention while LeBron is one of the best passers ever and Wade is the best lob passer ever?
I didn't watch Bosh much at all in Miami, did see him a good amount playing in Toronto and I doubt his skills regreased, I'd expect they just weren't utilized like they were in Toronto. Also, I would suspect that he didn't have all that many plays ran for him with Wade and LeBron on the court since that doesn't really make much sense. His first 4 years in Miami he never shot more than 14.2 times a game which is 2-3 FGA less than he got in Toronto.
Bam's offense is pretty simple, he now has a jumper on the move from 10 feet from the basket. He doesn't really have good footwork in the low post where he can make smaller players pay for switching out on him. I like Bam, great defensively and didn't need plays called for him all that often and was able to score close to 20 ppg while getting a bunch of assists to mostly 3pt shooters, so him shooting 2s vs passing out to 3pt shooters is actually slowing up the offense but it is development in his game.

Re: Bam since becoming a starter (4 years) vs Bosh Miami Heat Tenure (6 years)
With the numbers being so close, like others have said it seems like the choice comes down to roster composition and what you're looking for. The era and who you're going up against would also factor into your choice.
Most of Bam shots are in the paint or inside 14ft. So makes sense his FG % would be higher. Assists as well, since he's essentially a point forward. Defensively he moves like a guard and has great lat quickness. Are his numbers way better in terms of interior defence ie opps fg percentage in he paint etc? Do you think the higher rebounds could also be due to more possessions, more shots going up in general, specifically more jump shots & 3 pointers ( lower percentage shots)
Offensively I'm not going just off stats. That chart someone posted before is what I'm talking about. Bosh was a threat from anywhere on the floor, an elite scorer. The game was moving towards the pace we have now but was still dominated by setting up your half court offense. Could you take Bam from the last three years and insert him into a 2000-2015 team and just dump the ball to him in the post/elbow and have him drain the clock to get you a bucket or make a play every time. Could he be a centerpiece .You got flashes of it this year but he's more limited offensively. I know Bosh was third option but on any given night he was good enough to be a first option and sometimes he was depending how hot/aggressive he was, the others would feed him.
I would have loved to see Bosh play another 5-6 years and get his 3 point attempts up to 4-5 a game. The game was trending in that directions and he was the perfect centre to have in this era.
Either way we're lucky to have had both these guys. And honestly we're luck Bam has developed as much as he has, cause he was really a raw talent. Hopefully he develops even more and reaches that next level.

Re: Bam since becoming a starter (4 years) vs Bosh Miami Heat Tenure (6 years)
Also looking at highlights a lot of Bams points are off pure athleticism, lobs, putbacks, P n R etc. and he greatly benefits from this new era of pace and free flowing offense. Once the athleticism goes how many points will that shave off if he doesn't further develop his scoring?
And how much of his game would have translated to the previous era where there was way more of a focus on Halfcourt offense with the exception of a few teams like the Suns & Warriors. I guess it also boils down to what team you land on. We developed him into a ball handler/facilitator and developed his jumpshot. With how raw he was who knows how he would have ended up on another team especially in another era. He might of just been a defender/hustle/rebound guy.

I’m sparking discussion, can we not have player comparisons? The more I looked into it the more I got curious of others opinions but apparently Bosh is revered to as a god. If you prefer Bosh that’s great, he’s a great player but Bam has been better in his stint.
You know for a fact Bam won’t make the hall of fame or be a champion?

I never said he was an offensive juggernaut but he’s 2nd in the entire league at points in the paint behind only Giannis so majority of his shots must not be 20 footers lol.
In fact, he attempted only 97 shots from 15+ feet this season so he must be getting exactly where he wants to go majority of the time.

Per 100 possessions Bams rebounding rate is much higher than Bosh so I would say no to it being based on pace or amount of shots going up.
He is a better all around scorer but all that did was lead to him scoring less points on more shots and worse efficiency. I feel like his efficiency should’ve been much higher playing next to Wade and LeBron.
We were definitely lucky to have both, ironically they’re the perfect fit next to each other. We need Bams next step to be getting his attempts and percentage from 3 up there with Boshs last 2 seasons. He’s found a home in the paint where he knows he can dominate now, now it’s time to get the 3 ball going, I personally don’t care about the deep 2s in between, that’s the least efficient shot in basketball. Dominate the paint and become a very good 3 point shooter

Do you think Bam would of had the same rebounding success against traditional bigs where they'd play a proper C/PF together vs now where small ball is the name of the game and you usually only have 1 real big on the floor?

Yes and I believe if Spos defensive scheme didn’t have him roaming the perimeter all the time he’d average about 11-12 a game pretty easily. Bam might be 2 inches shorter than Bosh but he’s 20 pounds heavier, faster, stronger and more agile, overall more athletic. All those things help give him the edge there

Shoutout to those who didn’t swarm in here trolling and talking **** and are actually trying to have basketball discussion. It’s actually crazy to me why Bam has the rep with some in the fan base as he does considering all he does for the team, the impact he has on the team, and how he’s bought in to trying to be the next Heat great/lifer since he got here but it is what it is I guess, weird.
My bad for sparking discussion on a topic I thought was interesting, I should know better. We only discuss pie in the sky acquisitions or rag on the team/players non stop.
If Bam finishes his career in Miami I’ll be sure to bump in 10 years when he finishes as the 3rd/4th best player in Heat history (Wade/LeBron/Jimmy) while also being the most hated star from the fan base in history

Yes he killed it because if that was the case then he shut off Giannis from getting into his spots. If Gianni’s is only taking 5 shots in the paint but took 20 total shots knowing what his game is, he got locked up lol
so what about bams majority shots being 20 foot jumpers ? Hardly posting up or attacking the rim.. Unable to? Must mean he gets clamped coz can’t get to rim against other bigs..So it’s either bam is unable to or he always gets clamped getting to the rim.. Let’s not make him like he’s an offensive juggernaut when he isn’t
There’s a difference in taking jump shots/floaters in the paint which inflates the points in the paint stat vs being able to blow past a bigger defender and get to the basket at will..majority of his shots are jumpers.. even when bam posts up it’s going to be a turn around jump shot. Doesn’t look to attack the rim or blow by bigger defenders.. so unable to? Or gets clamped into a jumper? I mean coz speed isn’t an issue with bam..

It's Wade, Haslem, Mourning, James, Shaq and Bosh for me and I think most Heat fans will have those guys in various orders before Jimmy and any other Heat player who hasn't contributed to winning a ring yet. Butler has given us many great memories but let's not forget that winning > everything else. That's the bar now and if Bam never wins a ring he'll be the same as Jimmy, behind all those other winners.
I also think you're taking the Bam hate thing a little too far. Ya some guys will rip him its the internet, but I don't believe there's some kind of widespread, deep seated hatred for Bam in the fanbase. Some people might not like him fair enough but its not some kind of deep conspiracy.

Majority of Bams attempts come within 5 feet, he’s getting exactly where he wants. Idk what point you’re trying to make here, Bam wants the jump shots, layups, floaters, etc in the paint. He’s made that an area he dominates. Giannis does not want to shoot 20 foot jumpers so if 15 of his 20 shot attempts are 20 foot jumpers he’s not getting where he wants to go or in other words the defense is shutting it down
