Nurse is a solid coach but gets totally overrated . Kawhi carried that finals team, we all seen it. Fun Guy was an absolute machine that year

They finished in pretty much the same spot as those teams. Bam and Jimmy are better than anyone on that team. As is Trae.

Toronto has some awesome pieces, but you can't win without top end talent. They overachieved previously because of coaching.

Snyder and Spo are also pretty damn good coaches.

No shooting in that starting lineup, Poeltl, Barnes and Siakam can't shoot from 3 at all. No bench either, Nurse over achieved the last two years.

No good on ball creators either.

Oh, and as for the purpose of this thread, I think Nick Nurse is a fantastic coach and an upgrade over Doc, but have a really hard time seeing him mesh well with Embiid and Harden unless he's completely detached from his current system.

No thank you to that douchewagon. I think him and Embiid/Harden would be an atrocious fit. It just wouldn't work. If we were heading towards a rebuild? Then yeah, Nick Nurse would be the perfect guy to have to coach up a bunch of young players. To me, that's where he'll fit best. I definitely don't see him coaching in Philadelphia. The guy is not Philly material. He can take his Ked wearing ass on down to Houston.

I'm just riding with Doc for the time being. Unpopular take for sure, but that's where I'm at. We have a core that's been together for a few years now, this is Doc's third season. We're a top 3 seed. Obviously he's got his shortcomings as a coach, but I'm just not ready to throw in the towel on him and move a bunch of stuff around. We're nothing like Boston where they can just change head coaches and still win 60 games. Changing head coaches now would signal a potential rebuild for us and I just don't think we're there yet. I think Doc will get a fourth season with this roster like it or not.

In a perfect world, Sam Cassell would just replace him and become the HC of the Sixers. That would be as ideal as it gets. So...I think if we eventually want to woo Sam Cassell, then we almost have to trust in Doc for the time being. It's another reason why I'm being patient with Doc. I thinking broader here and that broad thinking is Sam Cassell. We can't let him go anywhere else. Sam Cassell is the real prize here.
