Yep, can't stand this ****. The warm weather gets me in such a great mood and enhances my energy, only to have it completely whiped out by cold/wind/rain/snow.

My daughter plays soccer in the Dells this Saturday/Sunday. Just checked the forecast - high of 44 and zero sun, low 30s at game time. **** off.

I will be selling my Wisconsin house once my girls are done with college (roughly 11 years) and getting out of here during the winter.

Recreating here now as it feels like a great spring/summer, out-on-the-porch drink. Tried it with the traditional Italian garnishes for the first time - orange slice and green olives. Sounds so weird, but it really works nicely. I know some people do this with Wisconsin Old Fashioneds too; I never understood it, but do now. I mean, I don't know why I understand it, but I do.

Also a very British thing, my brother swears by jugs of Pimm's and lemonade as that spring/summer, out-on-the-porch drink. He goes with what I believe is the standard ratio (1:3 Pimm's to lemonade) plus some cucumber and segments of whatever citrus he has lying around. He swears the trick is using nice lemonade, if he can't get something good he goes with a lemon barley cordial/soda water and uses only lemon/lime as the citrus and throws in a handful of mint (probably my fave).

Great for being able to have a few tall glasses and only slightly starting to get a buzz (Pimm's is 25%).

We call that a Pimm's cup. They're great! I don't keep Pimm's on hand, but that sounds good now and I may have to pick some up.

My wife loves her Pimm's cups. Usually up north in the summer, but occasionally at home as well. I'll have once in a while. Definitely refreshing.

My wife and I don't argue often but traveling when our kids were toddlers was one we'd fight about. It's pretty rough with littles but of course she would win and we did a decent amount traveling with them. Positive spin, my kids are 4 and 8 now and are great travels. Some is just them being older but the reps when they were little definitely help.

Twitter without the blue checkmark is going to be unbearable to parse through hoping you're reading from the correct person and not a parody account or something.

Periodic reminder that the one distinguishing feature of the wealthy is the size of their portfolio. Otherwise, normal idiots, just like me and the rest of the proles.

Same, Joe Goosen is just such a hilarious figure in the boxing game and he was an integral part of my greatest round of all time. Hope King Ryan becomes a true star tonight.

I picked Garcia. Tank's hand speed just too much.

I had Davis. He was quite clinical throughout the fight and really good at picking his spots.

Credit to Garcia, though. When Davis landed that liver shot, I was stunned that Garcia was able to stay on his feet and even take a few steps back before falling to one knee. He tried so hard to get back up. Can't question his toughness.

Not a FOTY candidate by any means, but Tank cemented his place in the boxing eco-system. Fights that answer questions are good fights.

Tank was just a clear cut above. Garcia is so much bigger than him and it didn't matter a hill of beans.

Did you see the difference between one kid and two? Current toddler loves traveling and has done Jordan, Moab, Cancun, Boston, Austin in the past six months and with the exception of the time zones he did good. I do have big fears with the extra car seat and baggage along with my wife having to hold one. She's the better parent but I can be the pack mule with 70% of the luggage and the kid. If she also has to carry a kid and luggage everything just becomes a strain (airport, checking, lines at attractions, etc).

Can I be your 2nd child?

Our daughter did wonderful on both the flights down and back (slept through some awful turbulence out of Charlotte yesterday) but the sickness and random crap that comes up sucks. We have number 2 coming in June and are planning our first family trip likely in April of 2024 to either one of our parents condos. Nervous about the carseat thing too.

My kids are 3.5 years age difference so my daughter was at least at an age where she could somewhat be reasoned with when we were traveling with the baby. We always heaped tons a 'youre such a good little traveler' praise on my daughter and shes the type to like that and be a good little trooper when things start going sideways.

Time, always give yourself more time for everything than you think you need.

The extra car seats do make for a big luggage load. Get to the airport early and use carts. Luckily neither of my kids had ear issues with planes so for the most parts flights were chill.

I highly recommend the airbnb over a hotel. Having an actual room to put kids to bed in early is a life saver. Wed also plan out days in two parts with a mid day nap/chill time so the kids weren't terrorists by the evening.

Probably the most challenging time is right after you potty train. We took trips right before starting with both kids.

Ryan did well until the knockdown, he let Tanks physicality inside bother him and make him rush. Really enjoyed the fight though. Edge of the seat stuff for me.

Yeah wife refuses to stay in a standard hotel at this point and have been transitioning to either suites or vacasa. We only travel on points, which unfortunately is 90% standard rooms. Im a big fan of embassy suites which cover breakfast, closed bedroom, and swimming pool. Had good luck with vacasa where you can find arbitrage between cost of wyndham points and total price on vacasa (after taxes and fees). Just limited in this area.

I like Embassy Suites but haven't stayed in one post Covid. Do they still have the free happy hour?

The one on the west coast I stayed at did and hope the others lined up do. This one also has a $15 food & bev credit with the resort fee (waiver on points). It's definitely was low class with the rail and 'apps' but the credit got pretty solid pork tacos. It was perfect to have pool time to wear out the kids before a super early bed time with the 2 hr time difference.
