Re: Playoffs!?
Cavs are very weak on the wings, especially at SF, but once they address that and add more depth they are the ascendant team in the East, barring the curse of injuries of course.

Okoro has been a bit of a disappointment thus far. He should be further along than what he is by now. Maybe by next season he gets there. They also went away from Lamar Stevens for whatever reason. I don't know if he's hurt or what, but Stevens should be in their wing rotation and I don't know why he's not.

This is not an easy problem to solve. See the team we root for. They made a horrendously bad bet on LeVert, who would look good on And1 Mixtapes with his fancy moves but is a terrible NBA player. They do still have more assets than the Sixers to try something but because they have a no-defense munchkin backcourt they cannot sacrifice too much primary and secondary rim protection.
I don't think their future is all that rosy unless they successfully navigate a very narrow path.

If anything, I feel more confident in beating the Celtics now. They just launch mad threes and the hawks defense is dodo

Ultimately their future will be determined by how good Evan Mobley becomes.

Re: Playoffs!?
Cavs lack of shooting coming to bite them. Team scheme better in the playoffs to attack those type of flaws. We know this very well lol

Re: Playoffs!?
Cavs SF is weak. Knicks can just have Josh Hart (their version of Tucker) rotate to the paint and clog the lane for Mitchell.
Like what I said in GB, Evan Mobley is overrated. You can say the pairing with Jarett Allen is bad. Bad have you seen what happens when Cavs have Mobley at the 5? They’re constantly outrebounded by the Knicks. Without Allen, Mobley is not playable. All the “next KG” talk is just mostly imagination for now.
Mitchell needs spacing for him to operate his 1-5 2 man game. He’s not getting that with Osman and Okoro at SF and with Mobley and Allen in the paint.

We just need a healthy Embiid. Just be himself not even have to step up and take it to another gear.
But that Embiid that played in G3 v Nets would give us a hard time even if we played the Hornets because a lot of our schemes have him play a big part and he can’t be immobile.

Re: Playoffs!?
Horford scored 0 pts on 0-2 shooting. Hawks should have stayed on the other shooters and have Al shoot more. The most he can do is attempt 8 3s and make 4 of them for what? 12pts? But you limit the rest of the guys’ scoring.
But yeah, Celts can do the same thing against us with leaving Tucker at the corner which the Nets has incorporated the last 2 games.
And we did the same thing to the Nets by leaving DFS and Royce O’Neal that lead us to generate 102 DRtg.

Re: Playoffs!?
Denver versus Minnesota, just awful big man defense on both sides. Towns is especially awful on D, doesn’t even know how to play D, no instincts at all.

I don;t like being a hater for young prospects but yeah feels like a lot of the Mobley hype is a bit premature and feels like he is closer to JJJ than any KG (which is still very good btw)

What good is all that defense when you make the offense worse? And you can’t have guys like him when you are up against elite offensive teams with an alpha scorer who you can’t defend on single coverage while surrounded by reliable shooters.
If used right, this Hawks team have better chance with Bey or Hunter at the 4.
Hunter’s effectivity on both ends is similar to Melton, Tucker, Tobias or Niang. Decent defense and reliable shooting.

So your saying deandre and bey should play the 4 instead of Collins? (Maybe that's why they have been trying to offload him)

I can honestly not think of a more entertaining playoff series in recent memory than this GS-SAC matchup, which looked great going in and has only surpassed expectations. I generally pretty much only watch the Sixers any more, but this is one that will get the DVR treatment the rest of the way.

He will have to be elite defensively for us to even have a chance. None of us know how bad the knee injury is but if he comes back moving gingerly because of it will make our defense worse. Than it will be a uphill battle.

Not totally have DeAndre or Bey at the 4 over collins. But I’d have Collins less with Trae, Dejounte and DeAndre at the 1-2-3. And more Collins when Bogdanovic and Bey are on the floor.
If Hawks run Trae, Dejounte and DeAndre at the 1-2-3, im running more Bey at the 4 and Capela or Okongwu at the 5. I’ll then close with this unit or the starting unit, depending on how Collins play.
*btw my bad to say Hunter is a reliable shooter. He shoots 35% on 3 in reg season and 28% in playoffs.

It’s really too bad Kawhi got hurt in the Clippers/Suns matchup: that was also shaping up to be great.
