Should be an automatic 1 game suspension. Take the L like a man Murray! Lmao

What kind of message does the NBA send if they don’t?

Doesn’t really matter, Celtics will win Game 5 if he plays or if he doesn’t play

So the sample is obviously tiny, but Tatum, Brogdon, and especially Al’s on/off’s for this series are insane.

Celtics net rating with them on the court

Al: +16.9
Brogdon: +13.8
Tatum: +9

With them off the court

Al: -13.7 (!!!)
Tatum: -9.5
Brogdon: -0.4

Net:
Al: +30.6 lmao
Tatum: +18.5
Brogdon: +14.2

Next closest on/off is Jaylen at -4.9, that’s an absurd gap lol. Again, tiny sample and there’s not much to take from it going forward, but god damn those numbers are crazy.

Games 2 & 3 and 6 & 7 would be four days apart?? All the rest 2. :eek1:

As fans, I feel we are better than this. Playoff games are tough to win, especially when we haven't been playing well defensively.
This series isn't over. Let's not look to the second round. Behinds that's a jinx. Glad the coaching staff and players don't feel this way. Game 5 in this current series is what we needs to be the focus.

LOL I mis-read that at first.

I read the D as defence which made it “I was on my defence. White **** tonight”

Joe being Joe

Definitely a serial killer.

I love this guy more and more with each passing press conference

Same. I actually liked him from when he was our SL coach in few years back.

Liked him a lot from day one this year, unlike last year's coach, who I couldn't stand from day one.
Joe. As much as I like Joe, I'm liking him more and more.

Let's finish these guys off on Tuesday. No need to give them (or the Sixers) any hope.

Is this sarcasm or are you heavily stoned hahaha.

Not exciting? I’m one of the more calm sports followers but that game had intensity and energy with key plays throughout.

Not being sarcastic. For whatever reason I felt that our guys didn't play at full strength tonight (except Timelord, and Smart to a lesser extent). Tatum and Brown were almost invisible in the first half yet we finished the half up by a dozen. Almost at no point did I feel the playoff intensity on our side. Super happy for the win though, especially after Friday's disappointment.

Fair enough, I thought it was Atlanta’s intensity that made the Js quiet in the first half then they lifted beyond.

Atlanta really brought it two games in a row and we just lifted enough to take this game is how I saw it. It didn’t feel business like at all to me, but maybe that’s just me.

Weird how with all our supposed all-defense guards Trae still cooks. He’s either incredible, they’re fraudulent or imo a combination of both. Thank God this hawks team is horrible on defense. Let’s hope for a drama less close out without needing to play the Jays 40 minutes

al and brogdon. just steady guys who (for the most part) play mistake-free basketball.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I haven't bothered posting this against Atlanta because I don't consider Atlanta much competion. I view Phili, New York, and a healthy Milwaukee as completely different obstacles. Nonetheless, sometimes you can lose perspective.

An alternative perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+26.5 Rob Williams III (29 minutes) More Important than you probably Realized
+25 Jayson Tatum (39 minutes)
+22 Jaylen Brown (42 minutes)

+15 Marcus Smart (29 minutes) Excellent Game
+12 Malcolm Brogdan (23 minutes) Excellent Game

+10.5 Derrick White (32 minutes) Excellent Defense
+10 Al Horford (34 minutes)

+3.5 Sam Hauser (10 minutes)
0 Mike Muscala (1 minute)
0 Grant Williams (1 minute)
0 Payton Pritchard (0 minutes)

Team Total = 124.5

Great **** W.

Give the Hawks credit. They brought it - lots of offensive firepower.

GOOD D this time!
Outrebounded them by 7 this time!

7 & JT did the scoring. HUGE Q4 FROM BOTH OF THEM WHEN WE NEEDED IT!

Marcus-Derrick-Malcolm combo was excellent.

Rob was a GAME CHANGING DEMON!

Al quietly & effectively rebounded, played D & distributed!

FINISH THIS ON TUES.
DO NOT ASSUME A W.

I voted Rob. He felt like our most impactful player tonight, or at least it felt to me like we would have lost control of the game without his contributions off the bench.

I should have voted Al too, cause he deserves at least one vote. He outrebounded Capela and finished a team best +17, was our leading assist guy too. Put in some unheralded work.

Not one of Tatum's best games, but nice to see him getting to the line again.

Not one of Jaylen's best games, but nice to see him put up a 30 spot.

We turned the ball over a bit much and none of our guys had a standout game on the offensive end, but I thought this was our most impressive win in a short while as everyone was at least decent and we remained poised throughout what was a close game from the 3rd quarter on.

Jaylen started 1-7 or whatever and finished with 31 on a 64% TS, and he was also excellent on defense, especially in the second half.

That’s the type of games you need to win on the road in the playoffs.

What more can people ask for from the two all-stars on the road? Both played like stars tonight

In a huge 4th quarter on the road, Tatum had 16 on 7 shots, and Jaylen had 12 on 7 shots.

That was a big-time quarter.

Both studs came through when they needed to.

Hawks got a lot more O than I realized.

Let's take the next 1 and finish it, no need to play more games vs the Hawks and give the 6ers rest.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

They'll have to go to the Secaucus replay center to determine if contact was made before or after the buzzer. If the games over, it's just two dudes.

Seriously though, it was almost nothing, but it was something, something that is against the rules and can result in suspension. Players gotta know to never do this. If you are the team's second best player, down 3-1, well... that's a monumental bonehead move by Mr. Murray.

Not sure how Timelord didn't run away with the VC. Of everything else it's a great sign that he's clearly feeling good right now. If he just stays where he's at now and doesn't get even "springier" we'll have a great shot at the ring. Lets just hope he can stay where he's at right now, or even get a little greedy and see him get even stronger. That guy was rebounding, deflecting, passing, scoring down low, blocking..... I thought he was tremendous.
