The Jets are the official owners of the most number of years without seeing the playoffs with 12 among the major sports, which I assume includes hockey, but doesn't include leagues in other nations.

Any QB news?

Only that the standoff is still a standoff. Somebody suggested that the Packers might just pay Rodgers and not play him, which seems dumb to me, but they seem determined to delay this trade as long as possible if they don't get the Jets first round pick.

Last I heard, it's about a 2024 1st we don't want to give up. Allegedly they had a deal in place for this years 3rd and next year's first. It was basically a done deal. Then when Woody heard Aaron say he was 90% retiring before going into the darkness. Then he wasn't willing to give up the pick. I think GB has offered some insurance pick/s in 2025 if AR retires but, no idea what that pick/s offer is.

They will make a deal by the draft IMO.

It'll be interesting to see if a deal gets done on draft day. That's got to favor the Jets if (and only if), there's a player on board that the Packers want.

If it goes past draft day, I guess the Jets offer a 2024 first and after that it's negotiation. If things go as planned, the jets 2024 first won't be very high.

I've moved past the frustration stage into the, whatever happens happens stage. I have no idea who the Jets will add to play QB if the trade doesn't happen, but maybe that never becomes an issue.

What's even the point if he's going to retire after one year? Fck him. Anyhow, he's nuts. This is a waste of time.

Getting a real QB who isn't Zach Wilson! I don't wanna watch shyt QB after shyt QB. Not like we have a choice now do we? With a mediocre QB we make the playoffs last year.

I don't know what he has left in the tank but, it's gotta be better than anything we've seen in a LOOOOONG time.

There has to be someone else out there. David Carr? Teddy Bridgewater? LOL, this is going to be another shyt season coming up.

If course it's all gonna fail miserably. Have you watched the last 5 decades of Jets football. The off-season is usually the best part!

Draft is 3 days away. I don't if Aaron Rodgers happens, but I'd say 60-40 he's a jet in the next couple days, before the draft. That said, who knows. This is one messed up negotiation. Almost as bad as the Donovan Mitchell nonsense. Just rip that band-aid off already.

Also, rather than checking 2 threads . . . make the NFL thread the designated draft discussion thread? Any objections?

That was the whole point of making it a general NFL thread instead of just a Giants thread lol

The ex-Packer QB plan. That worked well last time.

It wasn't working for the off-season. It was two completely separate conversations in one thread.

I'm fine with it during draft day, maybe during the playoffs, but the thread was not working for the off-season. It was a mess.

I wouldn't say it was that bad, but they paid a hefty price.

If Rodgers is a one year player, which is how they should look at this now:

Swapping 13 for 15 - yes there's some value loss, but . . . meh.
#42
2nd round pick 2024, which, if the Jets win, should be in the 50s.

And, couldn't the Jets just rest Rogers and avoid the 65% of snaps?

It's an overpay, but if Rogers can get close to what he did in 2021, I'm OK with it.

Jets move down two spots in the first round and do the deal that was essentially going to happen all along. A second and a conditional second round pick that becomes a first based on plays. At the end of the day, the Jets get their QB and finally get to move on from all the rumors. It's a good day for this to be done.

Now imagine if rodgers retires next year. Paying all that for one year of a qb on the downside of his career is embarrassing

All in

At least it's over with. Now the fun begins. Ring chasers. Now we get to see just how much autonomy Rodgers has over this roster

Closer to one 1st. They swapped pick 13 for their 15. But that conditional pick is pretty bad I will say.

Return to New York Knicks
