If we get out of this round, this just raises the bar for 8th seeded teams. I think it'll positively impact the league moving forward. I think teams (and owners specifically) will be more obliged to go all in and make the playoffs if they're stuck somewhere between the 9th and 13 seeds, as opposed to tanking the rest of the way for a better pick. The added revenue + the uncertainty of the playoffs is on full effect right now.
Luka can't be happy watching this, knowing him and Kyrie could have given the Nuggets or Grizzlies an absolute fit.

Arison is salivating for that added revenue. It's amazing Jimmy was able to get him every damn home game in this series with this team. Can't believe we are knocking on the door step of the second round.

Everyone's banged up a bit at this time of the season.
Still gotta find ways to be impactful on both ends.
No excuses.
Bam should have the mentality that he's playing for the right to be on this team next season and beyond.
He’ll be fine, game 3 when the scoring wasn’t necessary he was highly impactful everywhere else. Last night when we needed some scoring and he was struggling he let it affect his game elsewhere and he wasn’t impactful until the last 6 minutes. If he’s struggling to make shots he has to stay locked in everywhere else, the scoring will come but the other things got you to where you are today
Not scoring is bad but when it's compounded with poor decisions, sloppiness, and general deer in the headlights demeaner, it's unacceptable.
He's got to play like a seasoned vet who isnt gonna get rattled by the moment.

I can’t stop watching the highlights. Especially the back to back threes sequence (though second one was a two). Just incredible. Jimmy is incredible.

Yep, he sucked last night. Luckily he was able to step up the last 6 minutes when the game was on the line, Let’s see how he bounces back

Honestly, we need to let Bam be who he is. He is a limited offensive player, should be seen as a finisher and defensive player. Not fooled by the overrating by his fans, though you do have to step in when they start talking nonsense about him being a legend or better than players he’s nowhere near as good as.
Bam needs to be allowed to maximize himself in THAT role, finishing defender. I don’t want Bam generating offense or trying to create because I know he’s not going to be good at it. But there’s no reason he shouldn’t be a constant lob threat. A great cutter. Those are the areas I have problems with Bam not fulfilling well, not him not breaking down guys like Lopez off the dribble consistently. It’s not in him. But no reason in 6 seasons why he can’t reliably catch a bounce pass in traffic. Like come on.

3ammy… all that mid season talk about us eating our own words…. Sucks that we were right to be hard and doubtful of Bam. I pray mid season Bam decides to show up for the next game and beyond. If Jimmy can hoop like this series for 13 more wins, and All Star Bam can put up 22+ points moving forward… we have a shot at this thing. Our other guys can go off on any given night.
I also hate to say this… but does Herro going out have anything to do with this change of success?

I think it's been coincidental, thus far.
Duncan, unexpectedly, has broken his 2 season slump which greatly compensates for Herro's absence.
I did think though that Dipo playing more minutes in place of Herro would have benefitted the team greatly in situational matchups.
That's out the window now.

One bad game, it’ll be alright. We’ll see how it plays out before the Herro talk but I’m not completely shocked

I said from the outset the Herro injury sucks for us as a team to lose another scoring threat, but really sucks for him because it’s going to be lose lose for him in the eyes of the fans.
If we lose games, he’s going to get a critical eye for once again being injured and not able to fully participate in the playoffs.
If we win games, ppl are going to say he makes us worse when he plays and he’s not needed like you are suggesting.
Lose-lose.
I will say that there are things we can do defensively without him. It’s simply a part of his game he has to greatly improve.

Every time Highsmith comes in he locks up, hopefully he’s in the rotation going forward in place of the injured Dipo. Just hit the open 3 and your spot in the rotation will be set in stone the rest of the playoffs

It's all just stupid. Heat were one of the worst 3 point shooting teams in regular season and now are one of the best shooting teams in playoffs. Herro was the only one who was shooting above average. He has nothing to do with Lowry, Duncan, Struss and Gabe going cold all season long.
They have to shoot great to win games even if Butler goes for 50. The concern for Heat is the shooting goes back cold and we loose the next 3 or the next series. That's where Herro loss and Bam's offensive disappearance hurts. If we go cold again, we are screwed. I expect we loose the next game but we have to find a way to get Bam going. We need some insurance in the nights the shooting isn't there or Butler isn't nuclear.

We have to have this Jimmy every few games. Hes got the offensive skillset that can win games. Hes our only FT generator. Slowing down the game and forcing other teams to compensate for foul trouble is very advantageous.

I would honestly think about potentially starting Highsmith for game 5. You know GA is going to be in full blown bulldozer mode, and the refs will have a soft whistle. Whoever is defending him will probably pick up 2 quick fouls. Rather that be HH than Bam Adebayo.

Bam has definitely made improvements to his game. He just needs to keep working at this shot and becoming more consistent/confident. If Bam can hit the three at over 35% he can easily average for 20ppg efficiently. Something to keep chipping away at during practice and the off-season.
As for the lob threats, no one on our current team other than Jimmy and Herro are capable of throwing good lob passes. Dragic used to set him up beautifully, but Lowry and Gabriel do not.

I need this series win. Get Portis and friends outta here.
