I like 26/10. I like that he's shown the ability to lead a team deep in the playoffs. I like that hes only 24 years old.

that 1 deep run looking very fluky right now, after being bounced out in 1st round last year and likely the same this year.

Ehh teams got better, and the Hawks didn't. I don't consider wining 7 game series flukes. It's just the teams around them improved. It's one thing I do fear for the Magic going into next year. We know that if we had been heathier this year we would have made the play in. But next year teams will look to improve. Getting Cade back alone will make the Pistons a lot better than this year for example. So we got to look to improve too. But back to Trae, Im not saying your critics on him aren't fair I'm just saying he's far better than what we have currently in the backcourt and a change in scenery is what he needs. We at least should check to see what the price is to acquire him.

Trae was voted by other nba players, with nice 15% as most overrated nba player this year

I don't know, if i'm Hawks, i'm looking at Raptors and asking can i do sign& trade for Vleet + assets and i'm sending them Young.

Both team would improve a lot by just making this trade possible.

Other team is Heat.

Young being exposed in the playoffs back to back years is not a good sign C’s are putting their bets on him only shooting 33% on his step back threes.
They’re just stopping the floater/lob game with drop coverage which Horford is elite at.

Hawks Open to Trading Trae Young

I wouldn’t argue that Trae is a superstar but he’s clearly a good player. I wish he’d work on his shot selection, but he’s a volume scorer. He’s one of the best play makers in the league due to his efficiency of getting in the lane.

I thought Atlanta adding Murray would humble Trae a bit, but it really hasn’t, unfortunately. I’d still be willing to trade both picks this year, as I think he would be a good fit with Paolo and Franz.

Trae young was voted the most over rated player by his peers in the
annual player poll from The Athletic. Yikes

Exactly why I’m not ecstatic about the possibility of us acquiring him.

He is a high usage guy that’s why he outs up big numbers. Although he is a good playmaker, tbh. But that’s just it.

He is a wannabe steph curry lol

Young had 35 points and 15 assists yesterday. This forum would spontaneously combust if a Magic guard put up those numbers in any game, much less a playoff game.

Looks like he played no defense either. Reminds me of Vuc getting 25 and 15 in a losing effort.

and shot 11-26 with no defense. I wouldn't mind him but don't want him for what it would likely cost to get him.

I feel like his stat line is so deceptive. Not only is he a poor defender but before the 4th quarter he was shooting poorly 6/20, and ending the game shooting 11/26. His poor start was a big reason they were down for most of the game. You can argue that this was just a one off, but he is a career 43% from the field meaning he really not a good shooter what he did last night is the norm. He gets his points on a high volume of shots but on low efficiency, If he wasn't so good at getting to the free throwline, that combination would be terrible.

I remember watching Paolo say in an interview something along the lines that he doesn't like guys who fish for their points. To me that pretty much described Trae. It wouldn't surprise me if Paolo voted Trae overrated.

But he *is* great at getting to the free throw line and free throws matter a lot.

Young had a 56.7 TS% for the game which is definitely workable when you also have 15 assists to just 1 turnover.

It wasn't like the game was a blowout the whole way. The Hawks trailed by just 6 going into the 4th and the Hawks had it within 5 with 4 minutes left.

I am just not a fan of TS% especially with Trae, it's just a way to hide how efficient he is as a shooter by incorporating the free throw shooting. Despite, the free throw shooting I really do believe his inefficiency from the field while being a volume shooter and his lack of defense is a big reason why the hawks have been unsuccessful as a team. With all that being said I don't mind the Magic taking on Trae; however, he will have to completely adjust his game in Orlando. He would have to take a backseat role to Paolo. He'll need to focus on taking smarter better shots at a lower volume. I would love if he just focused on his role as a playmaker. The magic will need a defensive wing to cover Trae defensive issues.

Trae + Paolo and Franz would be awesome.

Suggs fits nicely as a defensive #2 as well. Not sure WCJ fits as a defensive stopper and a roll guy for Trae but we could probably find some dudes to try out in that position if WCJ isn't the guy.

38 and 13 to win a road playoff game where they were major underdogs with their second best player suspended and we are talking talking about defense?

C’mon now.

I just hate the player he has become. He doesn't trust his team and passes only when he's absolutely stuck. It's a bunch of hail mary's that he hopes goes in. And he isn't Curry.

He had a GREAT last few minutes though. The defense at the end I blame on Snyder. There is NO reason Trae should be playing defense with less than 10 seconds to go and coming off of a timeout.
