But the Cs have been playing moronic basketball in the clutch all season long.

Maybe what this current Cs team need, for the long run, is to be taught a lesson and exit in the 1st round.

That way they come back hungrier and better next season.

Lol, so losing in the finals wasn't enough? Coming up short multiple years prior to that wasn't enough? They have to lose in the first round now? I thought this was supposed to be the year they came back hungrier and better? I feel like we're going backwards if that's the case and if that's what this team needs then blow it up because they have had enough lessons at this point. How much more experience do they need?

I still have hope because of how talented they are and because no other team in the league is THAT good.... But that is the only reason I still have hope. It's not because of our coach or high basketball IQ. Nor because I trust tatum to be THAT guy when we need him to be. I can tell you that.

It took Lebron 9 seasons and 2 finals losses before he got his first ring.

KD needed Steph and 10 seasons to finally get a ring.

The Jays have a long way to go when it comes to pressure situations.

This is not the first time this Celts team folded in the clutch.

I had a feeling this would be your response but here's the thing.. Both LeBron and KD left their original teams to get their first ring. Also, most of the teams LeBron lost to were just flat out better than his. Steph is part of a dynasty, same franchise, and shouldn't even be mentioned with the rest if we are talking championships and sticking with the same team. Not to mention the warriors are an anomaly in general. You say they have a long way to go. Last I checked jaylen's contract is coming to an end soon.

This could very realistically be the jays last shot together to win it all. Not saying it will be but it very well could be. Point is, they have more than enough experience to stop making the same mistakes they've been making for years. At some point you have to just acknowledge this is who they are. Idk how many more times you have to see it to admit it.

The mistakes the Jays are making in pressure situations is correctable.

It's just immaturity.

When they get older, they will figure it out.

Just like the 2008 Paul Pierce became very efficient compared to the 2002 Paul Pierce.

Both Jays are not at 100% when it comes to fulfilling their full potential.

Two to three years from now the Jays will be at their peak and they will be unstoppable.

Celts will close it out in Atlanta.

The problem is the Celts will still be choking in the next round.

Ive said this the last 5 years. Celtics will never win a title if Smart is the starting point guard. He has the organization by the balls for some reason. Brad, and now Joe are scared of his alpha male personality and wont bench him. WHERE THE HELL WAS BROGDON.
I can say this now with zero doubt...Smart is the most overrated Celtic of all time. If he was on another team, he would be a Pat Bev type, you would never hear about him.

Based on how guys were playing YESTERDAY, it's pretty clear who had no business being on the court the LAST 4 MINUTES. Oh, but Bubblegum doesn't allow that to factor in to achieving the objective of winning the game.

Jammer wrote:If this was golf, Mazzulla needs to take a class in How to Hold the Lead on the Back Nine. Despite an outstanding game from Jaylen Brown, I'm astonished at 1-5 FT from Jaylen. Utterly inconceivable. Celts should have won this game despite stellar shooting by Atlanta. Well, 5 Celtics brought it tonight: Jaylen, Derrick White, Rob, Malcolm Brogdan and Sam Hauser. Too bad that Tatum wasn't close to Superman tonight.

An alternative perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+29 Jaylen Brown (38 minutes) Despite 4 Turnovers and 1-5 Free Throws

+21.5 Derrick White (31 minutes)

+14.5 Rob Williams III (27 minutes)
+14.5 Jayson Tatum (38 minutes)
+11.5 Malcolm Brogdan (26 minutes)
+9.5 Sam Hauser (14 minutes) Could have played more

+9 Al Horford (33 minutes)
+5.5 Marcus Smart (33 minutes)

0 Blake Griffin (6 minutes)

Team Total = 115

Tatum is a soft ****** LOSER. What a shameful pathetic excuse of a try hard wannabe player he is. I am disgusted we lost a closeout game AT HOME. Trae came to Boston and punked them. Disgraceful.

I'm glad I took the 2nd half off. I think I and everyone else knew by the 2nd quarter, though, that the Celtics were just going through the motions. Joe has a lot of explaining to do.

Valid points but I would've gone for 2003 or 2004 Pierce, not 2002 when he was having a 1st team All-NBA season.

And now they get Murray back. This could easily go 7.

For Someone who doesn’t shut up about how much they idolise Kobe, JT often can lack that Mamba Mentality.

Hell. Even if he had Jaylen’s mentality he would be untouchable in this league.

Even if it goes 7, Cs still win, even if they don't deserve to advance.

The main issue is this current Celts team continues to struggle in the clutch.

Hard to win a chip if you are incompetent in pressure situations.

And I am now fully convinced. This was Miami, Jimmy would have alpha'd all over this soft team and we would be a 1st round exit.
