Yeah I'm fully expecting a game seven. A game 7 is anyone's game and before people start saying:

"No way this is the Boston Celtics they're a championship contender they're not losing the game seven!!!!

This is the same team that lost back-to-back games to Orlando at home, blew a 28-point lead against Brooklyn, lost to the rockets and lost to the thunder without SGA. I don't care if it's the playoffs or not this team is exactly the same team it's been doing the regular season there's no on switch like people were saying

This group always seems to allow the other teams "star" to shine at the Garden when the pressures on......This trend needs to stop, nobody wants a game 7! Shut Trae and Murray up in game 6, and lets move on!

Eurostep is not a move you use to avoid contact. You use it to misdirect and find an opening. If anything, it leads to contact. Think of players who eurostep a lot. For example Giannis or Embiid. I don't think you would say they want to avoid contact.

Tatum's FTr this season = .399
Jaylen's FTr this season = .249
Since becoming Boston's 2nd option Jaylen's highest FTr is .261.

Tatum has shot like 500 more free throws in his career than Jaylen has, and about 200 more in the playoffs.

Nope nope. Euto stepping is a way to find an opening i agree, but it also avoids contact all together. Don’t compare Giannis with Embiid and JT. That dude is a freight train when attacking inside. Plus he can absorb all forms of contact, unlike JT and Embiid, who losses control when bumped. Plus embiid flops a lot to sell contact. JB on the other hand, thrives with contact. Of course JT will have more free throws. He gets majority of the shots and plays called for him.

Tatum doesn't just have more free throws. His free throw *rate* is much much higher.

I'm just pointing out many of our narratives re: Tatum and Jaylen are clouded by bias and surface appearances and don't reflect reality. People think Jaylen is this hardcore warrior who's always driving inside and being physical while Tatum is a softy who's lobbing jumpers and trying to avoid contact. In reality, as borne out by data, the complete opposite is true.
Jaylen did well to attack inside last night as he should've against some of the weakest defenders in the league (Bey, some rookie I don't even know, etc.).

I don’t really believe all those stats actually. I rely more on eye test. The season after the bubble, a friend of mine noticed that JT had been euro stepping all the time when he drives, even when he doesn’t need to. Aftef that, i had been more attentive when he drives, and 90% of the time, he euro steps. Other times, he gathers the ball to early, and just throws floaters. It drives me crazy actually. If JT actually goes strong inside, nobody can really guard him.

Got punked by the Knicks 3 times in a row as well. The fact they were repeatedly losing to the same teams in the regular season was concerning. You would think this team would be out for blood after the finals so they would have motivation against teams they have lost to before but I guess not.

I'm not even going to include NY because I think they're a good team.

Even in the playoffs this team continually is playing down to the level of competition. I get losing game three but losing a closeout game in Boston against the seven seed is absurd.

Also Tatum hasn't played well since the All-Star break. He was obviously great in the playoffs last year up until the finals.

At this point he's pretty much continuing where he left off in last year's finals. If he continues to be a playoff no show for a few series in a row you have to seriously ask yourself if he's the guy to carry this team. I know he got some assists in rebounds but good God shooting 1-10 four threes is absurd. 19 points on 21 is so inefficient it's absurd.

I know I give Brown a bunch of crap all the time but at least he has shown up the past two playoff series.

Tatum's three point shot has been awful in the 2nd half. It's down to where Smart and Jaylen are.

And not only is the shooting bad I swear when the games get close the worst his shots get. He'll dribble the air out of the ball and with one second left he'll take this terrible fall away shot that isn't even close.

I agree. Also without Murray. Knicks can actually be a problem if we face them. They have a good chance against the heat, if they both advance. Plus they are giving those and Trae confidence. Trae basically clowned us there. 14 straight points? Lol. We played him soft and let him be comfortable out there. Somebody needs to rough that little **** up

Jaylen's ugly free throw shooting is officially back, in the worst way and at the worst possible time. His previous playoff average low was his sophomore year at 64%. These playoffs he is currently averaging just 58% from the line. :o

He was a no show every other game in the playoffs against the bucks and heat. He completely disappeared in the finals. At least last year he played great in the 1st rd. Now, he started earlier with his lethargic play every other game.

I will give them a pass if they win game 6 convincingly.

Return to Boston Celtics
