Copied & Pasted from a post I just coincidentally wrote in another thread:

Credit where credit is due - non-basketball feelings totally set aside:

Discounting his consistently inexcusable TOV & outrageous missed FTs, #7 has truly brought it like a true stud >>>>>>>>>>> than our MVP.

Tatum needs to wake the mother **** up ASAP. NO EXCUSES.

AND BROGDON & WHITE NEED TO CLOSE - WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GAMES WHERE MARCUS HAS FOCUSED ON CAREFUL DISTRIBUTION & D, & IS ONLY SHOOTING MUST TAKE CATCH & SHOOT 3 POINT SHOTS IN THE FLOW OF THE GAME.

AND CLOSE OUT GAMES LIKE A REAL CONTENDER FOR ONCE, YOU ASS HOLES.

AND IF THE BUBBLEGUM MORON DOES NOT LEARN WHEN TO CALL MOMENTUM CHANGING TOs, & COME UP WITH APPROPRIATE ATO PLAYS, FIRE HIS ASS NOW. GOOD GUY BUT WAY OVER HIS HEAD.

I am not sure I even want to watch this game.
I most likely will.
Decades of habit very hard to break.

SHOW ME, MOTHER ****! THE MOTHER **** TIME IS RIGHT NOW!

BIID may be back by R2 G1 on Mon 5/1 close to full strength.
He is watching these games on his couch laughing his ass off.

This team forgets it's a team at the end of close games, everyone wants to be a **** hero and be on a poster. Seriously, it's **** pathetic... pass the **** ball, stop ISOing and putting up **** SHOT AFTER **** SHOT. It's infuriating to watch. This team totally loses it's pass first mentality when we play well, then just leave it all up to jacking shots up like that's going to work. There's no intelligence or psychology put into the way this team works together... and I put that on coaches, all of them starting with Brad. To me, it's clear no one has put their foot down and said what needs to be said in those times.... PASS THE **** BALL AS SOON AS YOU SEE YOUR ISO IS NOT WORKING. It's unbelievable that has to be said. Especially for a guy like Smart who is so hot and cold on offense, you clearly do not want him having that mentality.

We bring Tatum back into the game, and time and time again he chokes away our lead after he makes a few terrible plays and adds almost nothing to the value of the end of the game. At that point, JT just needs to be a spot up 3 point shooter. He tries to do way too much when he's clearly not playing well and needs more momentum.

This team looks like they panic as soon as their shots stop falling and it's **** pathetic.

Tatum who? All I saw when it mattered was this kid Trae Young GOING OFF!
I think #0 on the Celtics is Trae's son. Truly inexcusable, JT needs a revenge game and put this to bed.

Just, yes. What is Joe doing? Is it obvious to everyone except him?

I wouldn't blame him one bit. Celtics better find their spine. Atlanta is confident now.

I'm still extremely annoyed about last night. I thought for sure Boston was going to win and close Atlanta out.

This series may go 7 and with the mentality and the massive inconsistency Boston shows at any given moment it's anybody's game.

Yeah that kills me. Even if it was just one game any advantage they had going into the sixer series* was lost last night. Never ceases to amaze me how this team can just continually shoot themselves in the foot.

*Of course Boston still has to get by Atlanta which is not a given at this point.

Maybe having an away game is just the thing they need. They can't handle any more advantages.

Embiid averages 28/12/4 on 61% TS for his career against us. He just gave us 52 points on 85% TS a few weeks ago.

I agree with this in general, tho I don't think this was the problem last night. Down the stretch our guys (maybe outside of Al & Rob) simply looked like they had been on the bench all series and were thrown into a tough situation with no warning or preparation. They looked scared.

Brog is our best ballhandler, probably our most composed player, and was amongst league leaders in 3 pt shooting percentage this season. DWhite has been one of our best players all season long, he is one of our more composed players and has been known to hit clutch shots, and he is probably our best defensive option against Trae.

Last night we saw four straight minutes of a lineup anchored by two bigs, a less composed Smart, a scared Jaylen (at least, he was shook on those two late possessions where he had bad misses), and JT who had had an off game. No timeouts to regroup, no Brogdon, no DWhite.

L was on Joe all the way, tho to be fair maybe he coaches different if he doesn't know we can win game 6 regardless.

I just can't see this team winning a title. They have everything to do it but everything I've seen this season suggests otherwise. I thought they'd cut the bs in the playoffs but apparently not.

119, 121 and 130 points allowed in the last 3 games is also way too worrying, especially against a mid offense

Last night we saw four straight FINAL minutes of a lineup anchored by two bigs:
A COMPLETE CLUSTER **** Smart;
A scared Jaylen (2 bad misses & a disastrous TOV);
JT who HAS HAD WAY TOO **** MANY OFF GAMES AS A SUPPOSED ‘MVP’;
No timeouts to regroup BY OUR BRAINDEAD & INCOMPETENT COACH;
INEXCUSABLY, NO Brogdon & NO DWhite.

AND, CONSEQUENTLY, WE DISGRACEFULLY BLEW A 13 POINT LEAD IN A MOTHER **** PO CLOSE OUT GAME.

I AM FAR FROM OVER THIS.
**** UP MY DAY.
ANGRY AS HELL.

Joe needs to flip these minutes for us to be successful, and stop having Marcus close games over Brogdon.

Playoffs thus far-

Brogdon - 25mpg, +12.2 net rating
Smart - 30mpg, -0.5 net rating

Yeah well that's never going to happen because Boston needs to play Marcus "winning plays" Smart in crunch time even he's a streaky shooter and his defense isn't once what it was

Per NBA tracking, 26 of Trae Young's 33 shot attempts in game 5 were uncontested. With Murray out the Hawks literally had one guy that could win the game and the Celtics just let him walk into the paint whenever he wanted. Great strategy.

I expect they'll play with more urgency in the first half of game 6 and they'll get a lead. Then it'll be a coin flip as to whether they'll keep playing basketball and win or just play the clock and let the other team's makes (Young yesterday) and misses (Butler game 7 last year) dictate the outcome.

Return to Boston Celtics
