Bresee I think *might* be undervalued because of the injury concerns, so maybe he drops and we can get a discount.
Mazi won't drop.
I just hate the thought of taking a TE in round one. Just the thought of taking a TE in the first round makes my skin crawl. I like our current TE's. The Te depth is good this year and I don't mind picking up one after round 2. I still believe in my heart and mind that DT, OL and LB should be our focus for the first two rounds. JMO. I don't like our O-line heading into training camp. We need another piece and more depth if we are to be a dominate running team this season. If we go DT and LB I believe we will be a top 3 defense next year that will be the strength of the team. That alone might help take most of the pressure off your boy to have to throw the ball so much. Run, run, run and a lot more play action should be helpful. Putting the team on Dak's back isn't and hasn't worked. He's not good or talented enough. Lets make Dan Quinn and the defense be the strength of the team this season.
Now that we are here on draft day I agree that I don’t want them to go TE in round 1. I think this draft is too deep at TE. They could get a really good TE in the 3rd round. I feel the same way about RB. Even a DT will be available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. This draft is deep at those positions. They do need playmakers though. Right now Lamb and Pollard are the only playmakers they have. They also have a huge hole at LG.
So with that in mind I want them to go OL at #26. I like one of these three guys: Darnell Wright, O’Cyrus Torrence, Steve Avila. I think any one of those 3 guys could step in and start at LG on day 1. Other than that if a playmaker like Jahmyr Gibbs is still on the board I would consider taking him. Or if Joey Porter Jr falls to #26. I do not want them to trade up.
