By far the biggest reason why this series is 3-2 and not 4-0 is because our all world 25 year old phenom is too dumb to realize he’s not Steph Curry.

All true but as I just stated in the other thread our coach keeps insisting upon taking 3 point shots as the main part of our offense... so the combination of Tatum and our coach's philosophy is probably the bigger issue.

I don't remember how long ago it was but there was one game where Tatum was posting up quite a few times in a game.. What I remember is very good positive results when he did that..

Can anyone remember if Tatum has posted up at all in the last few games?

At minimum it would put pressure on Atlanta's defense and probably get Tatum to the free throw line many more times...

Then why is this not a problem for Jalen Brown who has feasted at the rim in this series and only has 26 3 point attempts to Tatum’s 60?

As many have mentioned. Tatum settles all the time... factor in a coach the applies that philosophy and the 2 together make for a bad combination. JB attacks the rim more recklessly since college and has not changed his style "much" under any coach.

It's okay to vent. I was the among those who got pretty pissed about game 1 when they lost the 30-pt lead. But the underlined part just isn't true. Last time they lost a closeout game at home, Tatum was a rookie.

Jayson Tatum is a FAKE superstar. Soft as baby ****. Prove me wrong Jayson. You panty-waist. Dude sucks his thumb and trembles at night thinking about big games. He ain’t it. Anybody who has ever compared him to ANY of the past Celtics true superstars should hang their head in shame. Go home and cry some more Jayson.

If we want to play with pace, why are was I worrying about whether Tatum would actually take 8 vs 7 seconds to get the ball into the front court and watching Smart rolling the ball up the court allowing the opponents to set up their D easily?

Well that just isn't true, cos I erased it from my memory. Along with 2020 ECSF against Toronto.

One day after the worst night in recent months, I finally calm down and be able to share my thoughts about the collapse.
1) I worry about Jayson and Jaylen’s real relationship. I feel Jayson just lost interest of winning because Jaylen brought up his A game and about to lead the Cs to close out Atlanta.
2) Smart was so eager to leave his fringe prints selfishly in the winning moment. Instead of winning, he was more focused on bringing his “winning play”, forced unnecessary defense energy, especially the foul on Young that was simply stupid.

This is what Garden fans get for chanting 'overrated' at Trae at the end of G2 !
I hated it at the time, I mean why motivate a dying player ?
He showed back up and proved them all wrong

Thats 100% on Tatum and not the coaching staff. I guarantee you they are not telling him to hunt 3 point shots at every opportunity. He has the green light to shoot them just like Brown and it is at his discretion when and how often he shoots them. He does so excessively and inefficiently because despite his immense talent he’s somewhat soft, has awful basketball iq, and is not a good shooter. He really would benefit from an earpiece with somebody telling him what to do on every possession because he has a horrible feel for the game. He is Forest Gump except instead of STOP the sign should say “DONT SETTLE FOR AN EARLY SHOT CLOCK CONTESTED 3!!!”

However, I will blame the coaching staff for putting the ball in his hands with a lead late in the 4th quarter. That has been shown to be an complete disaster yet they continue to do it.

That’s the **** problem. Why can’t he be consistent. Like what superstars usually does. He did this last year already. Showing up every other game, and choking heavily in the finals. Why can’t he just stop taking all those 3’s. He is a rhythm shooter. If he doesn’t have it, he won’t have it for the game. Booker on the other hand, takes 3’s and a ton of mid range shots. Tatum is so predictable on offense on most times.

Maybe he just likes to piss off Celtic fans.

The problem is not bouncing back, it's poor decision making, low basketball IQ for me. You cannot just jack up shots when nothing is going in and that every time, pretty much the same way. You need to adjust, this is what makes great players, great.

Again, I would love a title, but I'm somewhat worried and disappointed we have to go to game 7, maybe even 7 against a team that should be TIERS below us.

That's why I said this Celtics team needs to feel the pain of losing and failure.

Maybe if the Cs lose this series then they feel so much pain that they will be better and stronger next season.

So basically what you are saying is a coach holds no influence and cannot hold Tatum accountable at all it's all on Tatum??

Yall better hope Tatum doesn't leave! Man does a lot for this team! He has his issues at times but it's the least of anyone else on the team!! We are going nowhere without him!!

This isn't to say he doesn't deserve criticism, but in 19 pages he's been raked a good amount and this is just postgame. If you think he isn't trying to play well, I dont know what to tell you. He's going to eat, wait for it!! When the trophy is raised it will be with his MVP trophy!
