But that was an ugly 4th qtr

Kinda how I feel as well. Team with this many vets on it should not have folded so easily in the 4th qtr at home with the crowd behind them. This series showed some things that I think Denver will likely try to use next round with the better and far more talented players they have and hope for different result. Will it actually be different result when they do it? Who knows.

But at the same time I think winning a playoff series is not something to take for granted and certainly glad the party continues to the second round.

There’s really no words to describe Devin Booker’s play this round. Might be the best playoff series any Suns player has had in franchise history. Incredible defensively, efficient, great ball movement and clutch whenever needed basket.

This last week or so has been the best basketball of Booker's career. By far too. He's outplayed future HOF Kevin Durant handily.

Hopefully he can keep it up. I imagine KD will draw Gordon, so Booker gets Bruce Brown? Or maybe KCP. He should be able to handle either, or even better force the switch onto Murray.

Did you see Monty smirk when Shamet made his lone three? Monty knew an extra three should result in 5 more minutes of playing time. Meaning Shamet will average 16 mpg vs Nuggets.

Yeah, god help us if he randomly goes 3/4 one game. He might be put into the starting lineup.

Someone needs to kidnap Shamet for the rest of the playoffs so Monty can't play him.

It took 4 straight 3's for them and 3 or 4 straight missed wide open shots for us for them to get back into it. Game of runs.

I think there was really good execution tonight from our core 4. Positive things to build on.
For those nervous about blowing the big lead, so did Boston tonight and so did Denver. Denver won, Boston lost, Suns won.

We won by 5. That one game they won was probably the one game Kawhi was truly healthy. That lasted not very long.

My dad said with a healthy Kawhi and George the Clippers would prevail in 6 games. He’s a very very wise man.

I agree with your dad, but to be even more honest, a healthy Clipper team probably wins it all. The reason I wanted to play the Clippers was because you can never rely on their star players to see the court. We took advantage and closed early. It was not easy though.

Yeah, people talking about folding. We were down 9 at the half and scored 50 in the 3rd, and then held them at 86 for what seemed like forever. It went from like tied to like 104-86 or something. We went on a huge run.

As I've said many times basketball often is a game of runs.

The only reason they made it close at the end was because they hit like 3-4 3s in a row in a very short period of time, but when it got close, we stepped it up, Westbrook missed at the rim and we forced a couple of turnovers to hang on. Sure they went on a run but we went on a much bigger one right before that and had a crazy good 3rd quarter.

Yeah, in theory, a healthy Clippers team can definitely beat anyone, not that I think they would have beaten us for sure, but they would have been a tougher matchup than anyone else in either conference.

Of course a healthy Clippers team IS just that...a crazy theory at this point.

But I think the best two teams just met in the first round. They just happened to not be healthy so the series wasn't as good as it could have been. It would have been really fun to watch that battle.

I just don't see how Denver defends us, or the Kings. The Warriors could do better with Wiggins and Draymond and also can get hot. Then of course if we meet the Kings we may need to be the ones stopping them, but I wouldn't really fear them. Not sure what to think of Memphis. They scared me too if healthy a bit..probably 2nd most in west, but that was in part because of Adams.

But if they can get by the Lakers and Kings/Warriors, they could defend us well too, with JJJ on KD and Bane/Brooks taking turns on Book. Ja could be hard to guard, but sometimes Brooks and JJJ shoot them out of games. Ja shot poorly the other night too.

I kind of didn't want to match up with the Lakers in the first round, but they probably scare me the least out of the remaining teams (not that any of them particularly scare me).

Was painful for me personally but the suns absolute worst matchup lost to the heat last night. They had the size to crush them on the boards, Jru is a pain in bookers ass, Giannis is a pain in everyones ass, Lopez ability to stretch the floor is tough on Ayton. Plus the mental aspect of beating them in the finals.

Boston might have been the better team but the Bucks were the bad matchup. Boston can certainly beat the suns but I don't hate how the teams matchup. Philly is in between, Embiid is a problem for Ayton but that team as a whole makes mistakes and is beatable.

Denver is very very good and might beat the suns but from a pure how these teams matchup perspective the Suns are a tough one for them because they can really go after the drop coverage you have to play with Jokic.

Yeah, agree pretty much on all points there. Philly would give Ayton trouble but I don't really see them getting past Boston. We also haven't ever really had trouble with Philly, despite Embiid. Miami might be interesting because Bam could probably guard KD and Butler definiely could guard Book. They have to get hot shooting though. Offense is usually their problem.

The Knicks kind of surprised me, and they killed us last time, though we were missing Book and Cam and obviously didn't have KD yet (who obviously is far better than Bridges, despite people acting like people here have ever straight up argued Bridges is better now).

It is weird that we may have more 5-8 seeds in the semifinals and will have an 8 seed playing a 5 seed in the ECF.

It's certainly been a 'thats why they play the games' type playoffs. I really didn't see that heat series win coming and definitely expected a better showing out of Cleveland. The Warriors/Sac and LA/Memphis series are less surprising. Thought those would be pretty tight.
