Why did Giannis not guard Jimmy at any point in the series? Jimmy rapes anyone smaller than him they legit let Jrue Holiday have his life destroyed and never changed a match up. Insane by the Heat everyone that looked like crap during the regular season all of a sudden started playing like it's a contract year.

I mean, this reminds me (to a degree) of when the Warriors (8th seed) knocked out Dallas (#1 seed) back in the day. I'm not trying to get ahead of myself here. Miami still has to win the series, and that is no easy feat. Even if Miami wins Game 5 and/or the series, the reality is Miami will have beaten a Milwaukee team that had its two stars at far less than 100%. On top of that, Miami has shot unreasonably well this series 54 fg% and 47 3pt% (versus 46% and 34%, respectively, for the season); even Duncan Robinson is shooting outrageously well by his standards: 15-22 (68%) 3pt in the last 3 games.

Miami will still be a team with ~$60M committed to Robinson, Oladipo, and Lowry next season.

Regardless of what happens the rest of the playoffs, Miami should be judged on the entire body of its season and not a single playoff series (against a hobbled #1 seed) or even a playoff run.

In the meantime, let's enjoy the playoffs.

This is quite ridiculous. Are we not missing Tyler Herro who is top 3 in scoring on this team? Are we not missing Oladipo. Are we not hobbled ourselves? Are we not the 8th seed this season? Is our team not filled w/ a bunch of un-drafted players? Do Bucks not have depth? You make it out like we're facing scrubs New York Knicks & we're the #1 seed. You got things hella twisted mate.

Furthermore In spite of what ever you think about how much we paid particular players we've still make less mistakes in a decade than plenty of teams in this league make in a season. Give me our mistakes any day if it means we're performing better than over 3/4' of the teams in the league & doing more w/ less. Besides we're currently getting our moneys worth w/ Duncan & Lowry off the bench has worked wonders. Dipo most agree was a worth while risk. We know now from reactions of latest injury he'es well loved here & we do not regret paying him.

Again, i run w/ our Org, coaches & FO. If we left it to arm chair experts they'd run this team to the dirt.

I think you're conflating a lot of things. Essentially you are using Miami's series against the Bucks -- again, 5 games -- to justify this very flawed team. If Miami had lost to Chicago or gotten swept by the Bucks or simply had lost to the Bucks as expected, you wouldn't have typed out a chest-beating I-told-you-so.

You keep stating how flawed or sh*t this team is yet we just advanced to the next round after defeating the f*ckin 1st seed w/ no Herro & Dipo, our starting point is an undrafted player, alongside our starting SG who too is undrafted. You say had we lost to Bulls & swept by the Bucks - non of these things happened. We beat up the Bulls & tore Bucks a new anus hole that indeed they could did not recover from after gm4. Even Duncan has had a significant impact. Bucks won just ONE GAME :o And that coach we keep speaking sh*t about only after each loss yet again out coached everyone. As far as i see it i have all the right to scream at the mountain top "I TOLD YOU SO"

SA37 wrote:Making decisions based on a 5-game sample is not smart. Lots of people are calling for the Budenholzer to be fired or talking about how Giannis is overrated...etc, but no one was saying this ~a week ago.

Because a week ago they didn't get tore a new ass-hole by our so called flawed, depleted team filled w/ undrafted, overpaid players lol.

Bro just because we've been successful in the playoffs doesn't mean we gone run with this roster for the nxt 5yrs. We're trying to compete w/ what we have, show casing who we are and why we are a winning organisation. Displaying our culture for all the doubters to see (even our very own fans). I think we have sent that msg & made things quite clear.

SA37 wrote:The FO knows this roster needs to be improved and knows lost of money is being paid to guys who have severely underperformed. The FO has been trying to improve the roster (looking into trades for Harden, Durant, Irving, or Donovan Mitchell most recently), but Miami is short on assets and unwilling to overpay through bidding wars like some other teams have been. In that sense, I think we both agree we can trust the organization going forward.

I'm in total agreement w/ you here mate.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

These Gabe plays are underrated. Both remarkable. I respect the hell out of this young man. Un-drafted of all things.

I must buy a drink for all the refs who swallowed their whistle when Himmy blatantly shoved Connaughton on that alley oop.
Buy yeah, so glad Tyler and Oladipo’s minutes were cut short, certainly not about the injuries though. Both their shot selection and good shot misses (along with Herro’s exploited defense) are too much of a drag too often.

The Knicks are gonna get so smoked because the Heat are gonna play Brunson off the floor defensively for too many minutes. And good luck with Robinson and Hartenstein guarding DHOs and threes. It’s gonna be back door cut city. Spo already figuring out how to pit Randle against his teammates if he plays.

Just like Delon Wright last season in the Hawks series, Josh Hart is probably the only player with the wherewithal to compete consistently against Heat Brand Ball. Everyone else on their team will have a horrible on/ off court profile trust me,

Bucks are big double digit (12.5) faves at home for this game. We are a massive $6.05 underdog. It makes sense as they're fully healthy, at home & they're the #1 seed. They have 3 all stars in Gainis, Jrue & Middleton. While we're missing top 3 scorer Tyler & lesser fact dipo off the bench.

12.5 to me is quite big considering our defense is back to our identity & keeping us highly competitive. I think this may come down to officiating.

Zebras def tried to extend this to a gm6. 17 to 45 FTA & other dumb stuff they called on us. Made this an even more remarkable achievement. Man i love our team, flaws & all

I was just watching the Locked On Bucks Podcast to see what they had to say and they had a scripted add read talking about being a championship team where every player is a perfect fit. The host is like well this is an unfortunate ad read here and then reads it hahaha!

Interesting he brings up Jordan, one of the most obsessed, crazy mother f*ckers to play this game, he most prob wld deem the season a failure. Jordan had one goal in mind every season and that was to win a championship. Everything he did was to achieve that.

Gianis is correct that this is a stepping stone to learn form and i hope one of the things he learns is to have a killer instinct like MJ. We broke him down mentally in gm5 particularly. That last possession we're he just threw that pass to let somebody else take a potential winning shot said it all. This mindset he exposed isn't good at all.

All hail Jimmy Butler. Some of the best playoff moments ever for the Heat have come during his reign.

I want to believe UD sticking his head in front of Portis helped. He went quiet after that and he really mucks things up and gets those bucks fans going.

Ah yes. It reminds me of all the posts bemoaning UD coming back and holding the 15th spot hostage supposedly. Not that a 15th man should ever be a concern in the playoffs, but some young project off the trash heap can’t give you that kind of moment.

In hindsight I think one of the keys to this series other than Jimmy going god mode was the fact that athletically the Bucks are probably the only team that are less athletic than the Heat in the East, aside from Giannis they have zero explosive athletes and alot of below average speed wise players. When I watched the play-in game against the Hawks it was shocking how much more explosive/quicker they were than the Heat but there was none of that in this series.

Since styles make fights I think the Knicks due to having far more athletes despite being less talented than the Bucks will be a harder test.

Return to Miami Heat
