Phil Chenier doesn't have the national name recognition, but if we were to reach out to a former player to get involved, it'd would have been him. Has strong ties to the organization and the city. Smart guy. Will commit and show up to work. Too bad he's in his 70's and we missed the boat.

No other former wizards really fit that bill. We definitely don't have any former players from the last 20 years that qualify. If the Wizards want to promote from within, the only guy I can see transitioning into a front office role is maybe Beal.

Same thing with the Commanders. Ownership has 1) alienated former players; 2) has not been stable enough to develop network; 3) no current prospects.

I heard Gil Arenas mention on his podcast that God himself (aka Laron Profit) is a burgeoning GM-type who has a genuine interest in analytics.

A do it all tight end is more important than a left tackle with the way the game is going imo. With offenses designed to get the ball out quickly, it's less important to have an elite pass protecting tackle and more important that they simply be adequate.

Playing without a good tight end is playing football on hard mode in terms of the passing game. If there isn't an elite tight end worthy of a first round selection then so be it, but that's what I'd say this team needs.

Another “we love this guy” pick that was drafted too high. Can he play? Yes. Should he have been picked #16 overall? Hell no.

I’ve generally been a defender of Ron and his staff, but he’s should not be picking players. They reach every year for guys and it hasn’t panned out. Even last year with Dotson, almost everyone gave him a 2nd round grade.

Can’t wait for the new ownership to come in and just clean house.

Don’t care what grade Dotson had. He’s an outstanding wide receiver and a great pick by Ron & Co.

Yeah you can't really call out Dotson he's fantastic. This kid is good and the only knock on his is how skinny he is. Get him in a legit pro conditioning program. Start feeling that kid some elk and potatoes and get him racking squats and presses he will be fine.

Was worried when I first heard about his weight, but then find out he's 6'0 with good reach. If there's a need to bulk up, it won't be difficult for him.

The average height for an NFL CB is 6'0
The average weight is 194

This kid is a 181 and 6'0 so hight is not issue. He also has very long arms. He's only 13 lb off the average. Hell ufc fights cut that in less than ,24 hours some times. That's an easy goal to add a few pounds of weight. Infact the heaviest CB in the league is only 215, the lightest being 174. 54% of the leagues CB are 190-200 that is a very obtainable goal for him he looks really skinny but I think he's just long and lean and doesn't have any fat one him. He's reallnot much smaller than your average CB and can easily get there with a year or two of good training.

He can jump, he has a long reach with sticky fingers, he can contort, and he has quickness. With all the 4-wide sets nowadays, you can’t have enough good CB’s. If he can put on some more pounds of muscles, and not loose any of those other attributes, then we got a really good CB. As it stands, he is a good #4 CB.

He was 166 at the combine. That is an unacceptable playing weight for the pros. Sorry, it's true.

What Simms said was accurate. Scheme fit, not BPA...which I agree with.

If they don't look to replace chase young with the 16th pick I think you consider Brian branch from Alabama he's probably the best safety in the draft by a mile. Our other needs, o line and TE can be filled later in the draft. I would continue to beef up that secondary.

Wtf is the obsession with cornerbacks? They are missing premium talent on offense, but for some reason this front office is absolutely one track minded when it comes to team building. Do they not realize they are one of the bottom 10 teams on offense, with one of the worst passing offenses in the league? This is ridiculous.

I’m done with Rivera and this front office. Time to go. The new ownership needs to clean house.

We had one of the worst offences because half the year we had Wentz, then a damaged Tyler then we were flip flopping. We took a C with the third rounder he's a decent one too probably the 4th best one in the draft still a bit of a reach. But I'm ok with it. He's a solid potential starting center in the future.

Also really skilled secondary position players are much harder to find than some big beefy tanks on the OL. We can find those later in the draft or bring in some vets that are still out there like lawan and some others.

Seems like the continuation of a trend. Pick guys a round or two too early. Pass on some obvious beasts.

Someone get Ron a subscription to Mel Kiper’s blog.

Actually, Commanders have already signed a couple of solid vets for the O line this off-season.
