The problem is not bouncing back, it's poor decision making, low basketball IQ for me. You cannot just jack up shots when nothing is going in and that every time, pretty much the same way. You need to adjust, this is what makes great players, great.

Again, I would love a title, but I'm somewhat worried and disappointed we have to go to game 7, maybe even 7 against a team that should be TIERS below us.

That's why I said this Celtics team needs to feel the pain of losing and failure.

Maybe if the Cs lose this series then they feel so much pain that they will be better and stronger next season.

I know you were watching but maybe you had MIB visit you since last season? :banghead:

Last season was painful for the fans.

But I don't know if it was that painful for the players.

Maybe they're thinking getting to the finals is automatic because they're so good.

As many have mentioned. Tatum settles all the time... factor in a coach the applies that philosophy and the 2 together make for a bad combination. JB attacks the rim more recklessly since college and has not changed his style "much" under any coach.

Thats 100% on Tatum and not the coaching staff. I guarantee you they are not telling him to hunt 3 point shots at every opportunity. He has the green light to shoot them just like Brown and it is at his discretion when and how often he shoots them. He does so excessively and inefficiently because despite his immense talent he’s somewhat soft, has awful basketball iq, and is not a good shooter. He really would benefit from an earpiece with somebody telling him what to do on every possession because he has a horrible feel for the game. He is Forest Gump except instead of STOP the sign should say “DONT SETTLE FOR AN EARLY SHOT CLOCK CONTESTED 3!!!”

However, I will blame the coaching staff for putting the ball in his hands with a lead late in the 4th quarter. That has been shown to be an complete disaster yet they continue to do it.

So basically what you are saying is a coach holds no influence and cannot hold Tatum accountable at all it's all on Tatum??
og

I never said that but I don’t think this is a coaching issue. If it was we would not see the player development that we have and other players flourishing in their roles.

You don’t think that Brad Stevens and coaching staff doesn’t see the same issues that everybody on this board does and aren’t constantly trying to improve his decision making and basketball iq and ween him off all his bad habits that we all can see? You don’t think they tell him to not settle for so many low percentage threes and drive to the basket more? And if he doesn’t listen or improve are they supposed to bench him or stop him from shooting threes? Piss him off so he walks at the end of his contract? It’s ultimately up to him to accept the coaching and work on his game to improve not just his ppg but his efficiency.

1) I worry about Jayson and Jaylen’s real relationship. I feel Jayson just lost interest of winning because Jaylen brought up his A game and about to lead the Cs to close out Atlanta.
2) Smart was so eager to leave his fringe prints selfishly in the winning moment. Instead of winning, he was more focused on bringing his “winning play”, forced unnecessary defense energy, especially the foul on Young that was simply stupid.
Really? That's your way of thinking not Celtics players. You really think JT want to lose if JB is the best player on the floor in a close out game in round 1?
Leave Tatum stans to write stupid things like that about Jaylen.

The only problem of this team is that even when another guy is rolling we go always with Tatum to close the game. Tatum, Tatum, Tatum and if he fails players go on panic and so on. They stop to play basketball

This isn't true though. Mazzulla has drawn up final shots for Jaylen several times and also in the playoffs.

I'm not talking about final shot. With 5 minutes to play in the fourth Jaylen already scored 8 points, he is on fire from the beginning. At that point we run three times P&R Tatum Smart with the intent to give JT the ball and the result is three turnovers. I understand he is our best player but c'mon. He wasn't his night. If you leave Jaylen don't touch the ball for 3 minutes he looses his confidence cause he is streaky.
And at that point teams can explore his limitations. In some regard JB is like Kyrie, he can score 6/7/8 buckets when he goes in god mod.
If you don't use him when he is on fire it's a mistake.

I like Jaylen more, but I think JT is a better overall player
