Bring in Nurse, get Giannis up to 40 min/gm by March, then watch the Bucks roll!

I’m a Bud guy but I can’t lie and say a coach search doesn’t have me kinda excited. Maybe Giannis will transition to the 5 full time like AD

He can't be trusted to the spread the floor and his size against other wings is clearly a problem. Jrue at the 2 would be a disaster.

No, i'm cool with Bud going.
He was asked after game 2 if going inside to Brook was part of the game plan.
He said no, it just happened "organically".
That was a bit of a WTF moment for me.

Exactly how do you not get brook involved downlow every game.Who knows maybe brook would look forward to a new coach who has fresh ideas who could keep him involved more

I’ll be absolutely gutted if they fire Bud, but I also think they should do it. It would just be the first domino to fall in the closing of an era.
Like the quality of people and affection for one another they had was just super special. I loved this team, and these guys, Bud included.
I’ll always think back to when we won it, and the Bud- Giannis exchange where they were both crying and said that they loved each other. That’s just so **** special and doesn’t happen with every champion team/ lead player and coach.
Just a great group who really loved each other.

This is where I'm at. The chip is already two years past and the last two playoffs have only detracted value from our assets.MickeyDavis wrote:Other GM's watched this series of course so what realistic trade value do our guys have?
So what are they realistically worth? All sans Giannis (secretly curious to see what some of you come up with while including him as well.)

If a 6th man of the year candidate can't help you in the playoffs, then what's the point of having him around? (I love Bobby, but still...)Baddy Chuck wrote:Is Bobby Portis our center to replace Brook or just another backup center? Shown a lot of "just a backup center" for a while.

Anyone ever worked at a job, stopped working there for whatever reason and then came back. Only when you return, none of your favorite people work there anymore and you quickly realize you went back for the people, not the job?Coach Carter wrote:;ab_channel=BleacherReport
Khris n Giannis are both underdogs n have been together since the very start. When we won, Giannis looked at Khris and said ''Khris We Did It''. Khris leaving will be hard on Giannis.
The FO has to pick some damn good people for Giannis to want to stay in MKE, I guess is what I'm saying.

To be fair, this was a down year from Day 1. It ended the way it started - a complete ****.Antinomy wrote:I honestly just think we need a “down year”.
This is our 5th straight year of having legitimate title aspirations — even GS started breaking down & they had the benefit of having a Top 2 player join them to relieve pressure.
Klay missed 2 seasons. Curry missed a season. Draymond sat out a season. GS essentially had two “down years” & were able to rejuvenate themselves relatively quickly.
I’m not saying to punt next year, but the issues we have we not take 1 offseason to solve.
The Spurs went 4 years between their 1st & 2nd titles, and 7 years between their 4th & 5th.
The league is extremely talented right now. Time for a new blueprint around Giannis (and Khris).

Think you're getting too caught up on traditional position terms. The key to him whether you call them 1 or 2 is the other G has to be able to handle and shoot. If the other guy is taller well call him the 2, if he's shorter call him the 1 as that will be who they more cover on D. His current function on O is closer to the off ball 2 than it is 1 (essentially he's already playing the role you want). Giannis the 1 on offense. Though I do grant Jrue currently has to play more lead responsibility with Giannis as the 1 than if it was a traditional 1.
Forget position labels, really when it comes down to you want a guy who is lead ball handler/shooter skills rather than Giannis doing it. I'm with you there. Jrue can stay off ball like now (and be even more off ball than currently). The new guy would add a more dynamic creator/scorer/shooter to the team and move everyone down one notch. And most importantly, be able to dribble vs ball pressure.

I kind of like the idea of Kevin Porter Jr. if Harden ends up in Houston and they look at add other vets.

The problem with a down year is most of the players on this team are already/entering post-prime.Antinomy wrote:I’m not saying we need to blow it up next season…

Think he's a prime trade piece this year. On a fair contract, a non title contender can start him and be confident in an 18/10 stat line. He can help a lot of teams. As pointed out here, yea he's not winning you any titles but he'd improve a lot of teams.
Add him with Pat and you can get to some decent guys in the 17 mil range. Put him in some 3 ways with one of KM/JH and he helps move the trade along.
