Old Rivalry renewed!

After both teams won their last round 4-1, with the Heat impressively beating the #1 seed Bucks, the old rivals from the late 90s will go head to head once again!

Tom Thibodeau, an assistant of Jeff Van Gundy's Knicks in the 90s, and Erik Spoelstra, an assistant of Pat Riley's Heat when they went head to head, will go head to head as head coaches this time!

Knicks won 3 out of the 4 series in the 90s and late 2000s, but the last time these teams met up in 2012, the Knicks lost in 5 games, lets hope for another outcome this time!

The Knicks must try to force Lowry to guard either IQ or Brunson when Lowry is playing. Either one will dominate him. However, if they allow Lowry to "hide" on Hart/Grimes, the Knicks may be in trouble.

Don’t take that team for granted. They don’t quit and have big time playmakers, plus a bunch of role players beaming with confidence after hitting so many big shots last series.

Spo finds any hole in your defense and will try to exploit it to the max. Last series it was 3PT defense and Lopez unwillingness to guard outside of 5 feet.

Our big hole on defense is off action leading to downhill movement by the offensive player forcing the defense to cave. We’ve been on a string helping the helper in the playoffs but we didn’t do much of it all season. Let’s hope the effort we saw is here to stay

This is why I loved NBA on NBC the best. It felt like they were taking you along story lane each game and you really connected with it. Unlike today where it just seems artificially manufactured on ESPN/TNT.
