Rewatching the game. That brown 3 when the score was 110-113 hawks was cold blooded. If he misses that who knows what happens next. We needed a big shot desperately, and he delivered.

One thing I love about it is how good-natured Smart was about taking a deliberate -- yet excusable -- groin shot. At least Trae didn't do that twice in a row!

I suppose I have a touch of CPTSD from last year's finals collapse, and multiple near-collapses preceding it. That game 5 definitely brought it back.

I'm definitely still concerned with our rookie coach, despite that he's very good for a rookie coach, and our ability to play with leads. Today's game felt a lot like a repeat of game 5, but when we got some separation we didn't let up, or maybe it's just that the Jays were 10-18 from 3. Either way our championship odds have definitely improved over the last couple of days.

On to Philly. I hope our guys stay focused, because the could be our toughest test of the whole run depending on who comes out of the west and if we can make it far enough to face them.

The Hawks were the toughest test.

All the remaining east teams have flaws the Cs can exploit.

But if the Cs reach the finals, Denver will be a problem.

The Hawks didn't have exploitable flaws???

The Hawks are athletic and have bigs to compensate for Trae being a liability on defense.

Only thing different from the Hawks in this series is guys like John Collins were shooting great from 3.

The Hawks were basically underachieving in the regular season.

I think i hate the fact that there's a "switch" that the Celtics can turn on as evidenced by the last few minutes which can explain why the Celtics coast sometimes, but at the same time relieved that there IS a "switch". Championship teams all have that "switch".

It was a basketball play and it wasnt intentional to the groin. Trae immediately went over to smart as well.

I mean, Miami advancing was amazing, but c'mon I feel as if some of the criticism was unwarranted, Giannis didn't play 3 games, basically. They lost 2 of the 3.
Anyways, for me it was Brown.

Definitely wasn't unwarranted, Giannis is obviously a gigantic loss and Butler's a beast, but the Heat's wing depth was decimated when they lost Herro and Oladipo (obviously those two aren't nearly the level of Giannis, but the Bucks still had Jrue/Middleton/Brook). They were closing games with CALEB MARTIN. The Bucks had 28 more free throws than the Heat in Game 5 and lost.

They had enough to win. They got Giannis back in games 4 and 5 and lost both.

They look like clowns right now, Bud in particular looks like a clown, and Jimmy Butler looks like a hero.

I don’t think the hate on the bucks is unwarranted and bud looks very bad but as I mentioned very low chance Miami wins if Giannis is healthy imo. He put up numbers but he never even guarded butler heavily during the series bc he was so hobbled. He missed most of game 1 - and 2 other whole games.

That all said credit to Miami for capitalizing and f the bucks

Idk why but I still feel like we just matchup so great against Philly and better than we do vs atl.

Atl has a couple good 3 and D wings one of which seems to bother Tatum more than usual and has an elite handling guard who can come off screens and shoot from deep.

Philly has none of that and is borderline 1 dimensional it’s the Joel show and that’s pretty much it. We’ll have the ability to really push the fastbreaks and just run of picks and shoot over the drop.

Was gonna post it when a Boston fairly thread came up but yes I agree we match up better with philly than most teams in the nba... Somehow I think Al horford and Robert Williams will have a better series than they did against Atlanta...

Tatum needs to play much much better... I would also hope Boston can put jolin B on the pick and roll defense every time as he also plays drop coverage...

Boston can and needs to wear his ass out..

Yea but Hauser did look good shooting the ball. Hauser was pulled early on around that time when the refs couldn't figure out how to stop blowing their whistles.

I was happy for Grant as well, that defense on Trae and steal late in the game was big.

The Heat did the Cs a favor by taking out the Bucks.

Herro could be back by the middle or end of that series. He went out on the 16th with a 4-6 week timeframe to return.

Brown's by comparison was 20.1, Smart 19.8. I don't think most fans realize what a tremendous game Tatum played last night. Makes me think the VC should not have been close really. I think most fans vote favorite player rather than performance.

For all the talk of aggression, Tatum led the team in drives per game in that round. He shot 56% on 10.7 drives per game, Jaylen shot 53% on 10.5 drives per game, White shot 58% on 3 per game, Smart shot 68% (!!) on 3 per game, and Brogdon 54% on 4 per game.
