Both are the same age at 21 which is surprising as Strawther is a junior.

Strawther is taller and a better rebounder.

Hawkins is bigger volume shooter and more athletic.

I am leaning more towards Hawkins the more I see him because I am kind of shocked at how athletic he is. He has a crazy motor and can rise up for dunks and has long arms. I think he could lock up lotto if measures well.

I think shot creation and playmaking are the swing skills. Both to me should be in play at 13.

I’d lean towards Hawkins. His movement off the ball is like no other player I’ve seen in a while. And the fact that guys like Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton are friends with him opens up so many possibilities. I also have no issue taking shooters as “old” prospects. They last longer than athletic guys.

Flynn had one good analytical season. Bane had 2 or 3 years at TCU, and Tillman was one all 3 of his seasons at Michigan State.

Sidy Cissoko is my early favorite for the pick

I see what you're saying, but Tillman played like 300 minutes as a freshman. If not for several injuries we're not even talking about him right now, and still it's weird to talk positively about a player that was getting major minutes in a playoff flop.

Strawther projects more as a solid role player, I would not take him at 13, you can trade down and get him if they were high on him. Let alone, I expect 1 or 2 projected top 10 guys to slip.

My biggest upside players at 13 in current mocks that you could realistically draft in that range are: GG Jackson, Coulibaly, L.Miller, Whitehead.

I rather we target keyonte, gg Jackson or Bilal who has grown on me! I ve heard he's 6"8 is that really true or its just the regular height inflation for guys in the draft

I'm sticking with Terquavion Smith. He's really good. His issue will be shot selection. If you believe in your player development he'd be a fantastic pickup.

I think he's a sleeper for sure. Could end up being one of the better guards in the draft if he goes to the right situation.

Made Kaulkbrenner look like a dweeb. That lefty dunk/block sequence at the end is a more impressive highlight than most of these prospects have.

Hawkins is such a perfect fit for our current roster. It almost makes me not want to draft him.

Too terrible of a defender. He's a pure shooter, and doesn't offer anything else.

I like him more the more I see him. He can even be a decoy and still cause havoc.

I do think he could show more on defense because he has the footspeed and length to guard 1s. In a lower usage role he should be able to show this more.

To me, it could be between Hawkins and George if they lean to shooting as Masai alluded to. I still think we need some shot creation not only c&s and pull ups so George might be higher on their board.

He has some De'Aaron Fox like qualities to his game, but I just can't get over his efficiency. Higher on Bufkin when it comes to the combo guards in this draft.

Jaden Ivey, Immanuel Quickley shot below 40% in their freshmen year, both stayed 2 seasons in college. I'm sure there are others. Picking a freshmen is going to require some projection and its not easy to do. Ideally, what they should do is break down their shots into various categories to assess their efficiency more accurately. Your college team composition is major factor.

If all we want is someone who gets buckets and doesn't do anything else, might as well just get the tallest player who can do so in Brice.

Maybe he'll learn how to pass like Derozan in his later years..... But Derozan locked himself in the gym every summer working on his game. Haven't read anything about Brice's work ethic (or lack thereof).

But this Podziemski name keeps appearing. I'm becoming way more interested in him now than Keyonte/Nick Smith Jr
