That work by Matthews to go 1-0 was great to watch.

From what my Leafs friend told me. It all depends on tomorrow, the Bruins and Panthers game.

Ah I see. I would guess the Panthers are in the best interest if they want to advance further.

Not gonna lie blind fan devotion to the team is one of the reasons its taken this long for the team to finally get to the 2nd round. Other franchises would have probably risked folding/moving in weaker markets over a 20 year drought.

Happy for Leafs fans. Almost 2 decades of suffering. They needed this bad.

Boston bruins just put together a regular season for the ages. Some ppl at TSN calling them among the best teams ever.

But it's hockey. The best team doesn't always win. And the leafs were definitely not the better team in this series. Tampa basically dominated the series and lost. Hockey is fickle.

If they play Boston and win...the next two series will be against inferior teams relatively speaking.

I mean anything can happen in hockey. Happy for Tavares to get that goal.. that bounced off a Tampa Bay player last name starts with B... but gotta have some bounces go your way in 19 years. Finally.

those quinn teams were the exact same. they just waited till the conference finals till they choked lol. those sens and flyer series were so damn good though.

if you're old enough to even remember those teams it's funny what this team has become in the last 20 years before this point.

Left-handed stick pass to Matthews left handed stick one-timer shot is the most lethal hockey shot there is, even the analytics say it (a lot higher chance than having an opposite handed stick pass). In addition, Matthews, finally gets on the right (opposite) side for the shot rather than his previous shot (and also his PP chance in the first). Beauty - hope he gets more of these chances next round.

That’s so long ago, Sami’s son Kasperi has already played 8 seasons in the NHL

But I go back to the Gilmour/Clark era, when they actually made conference finals.

That's a crazy trip down memory lane.... Zdeno Chara and Jason Spezza were on that Sens team lol

And they both just recently retired

lol saw that. Jamal was more like 8 years old, not even 12 yet. Didn't seem to care about them winning though
