Part of me feels like we shouldn't rush julius back before his ankle is good enough for him to play with the power he normally does. On the other, even a hobbled Julius could help us wear Bam down and pull him away from the rim...

Obi has stepped up well in Julius' absence before, Barrett & Hart can pick up minutes at the 4, and we have enough talent to still be a tough opponent for most teams.

...but our chances would be a lot stronger if we could get Julius back and he was able to pick up where he left off in game 5 of the Cleveland series.

Only concern with Obi is guarding Love on 3pt which he has done bad job in the past.

Have to hope that Obi brings his A-game defensively in this series. He's come a long way from his college days and Love should be a very manageable matchup for him if he's locked in & playing with confidence.

and again, the gap between butler and brunson isn't that wide of a margin.

No Randle but Grimes will play. Might be able to sneak a game with no Randle but need Grimes to throw another body at Jimmy. Putting Fournier out there is basically spotting the Heat 10pts. We'll probably run some small ball with RJ at 4 which has gone well for us.

Healthy Randle is ultimately needed. He cooks vs Heat. Gives us a clear size advantage and offers secondary playmaking action when they trap Brunson. Obi provides a different look and can throw nifty passes while stationary but not that.

If Randall is out today, you'd assume he's likely out for Game 2 as well, seeing as it is on Tuesday. If that is the case, Miami has a golden opportunity steal both games on the road.

I still like Miami in 6.

You have to beat Miami with size and rebounding. They have some of the best point of attack defense and your undersized they will take you out of the game since they will focus on you and make the supporting guys beat them. Thats why JB without having a bigger guy who can take some attention away in scoring makes Miami's gameplan easier to execute.

That's the thing though, in game 5 he finally started looking like himself and driving to the rim with the power we're used to seeing from him. So if he could've continued playing like that, we'd be a much better team.

If he would've been hobbled like he was in the first 4 games of that series, then yeah, I get the argument for letting him heal up and trust our depth...though I still think having Julius around to pull Bam out of the paint would've been useful.
