Above all, it's starting to seem like there's an odd over-estimation of Bradley Beal's value at this point in his career & given the financial burden he brings with him. I could be wrong....
PIF. No team is simply adding Beal's salary to the roster. The Knicks, for example, would be sending out 2 of Fournier, Barrett, and Randle. So they are paying for the talent upgrade without taking on much ADDITIONAL salary.
And not to beat a dead horse, but the Beal-Brown-Barrett/Founier 3-way trade is almost too perfect.
- Knicks add a Thibs-Type 2-way wing and someone who fits perfect next to Brunson in Brown.
- Celtics get Beal, who I think is a better fit with Tatum given their relationship. Beal will fully accept being the Robin to Tatum's Batman wheras Brown is still trying to prove he's the guy. They downgrade on defense, but they improve their shooting, ball movement, and playmaking in the backcourt.
- Wiz rebuild by taking on Barrett and Fournier's contract and getting our pick back along with a few other pieces. I'd assume we'd need DAL/NYK 2024 1st, Our 1st, and probably the 2025 Milwaukee 1st.
The Barrett contract is a real wildcard. He's been pretty bad his first 4 years, but he's young (15 months younger than Kispert) and looks good in the playoffs. Might be worth buying low and see how he develops.
