Nash put up great statistics but was never able to get the Suns over the hump. We were able to get Jason Terry with the Nash money. JET fit our team better and helped us get to two NBA finals. I am not sure if the Mavericks would have ever made the finals with Nash. Nash was most efficient in a run and gun style of offense which doesn't bring titles.

Yea the Nash stuff is nonsensical, Dallas was better without him. Won a title, without him. He never won a thing with PHX, so shouldnt dwell on it

Yes, but Spurs played very dirty against them... And Stat injury was devastating.

They were unlucky and very close to win, anyway it was best choice for all that departure.

Yea thats the thing, we let him go for nothing, but in the end, the Mavs won a title years later. Nash wasn't the Suns Nash when he was here, he even admitted Cuban saying he wasn't worth that contract motivated him to get in betetr shape and focus more on basketball.

Yeah you missed my point. Brunson would never be on the level of Nash winning league MVP. If Dallaa survived getting clowned then, they'll survive all thr Brunson talk now.

The Mavericks had an opportunity to extend Brunson after Brunson **** his pants in the Clippers playoff series. At that point it looked like his ceiling was 6th man. In 2021-22 he played at a different level and was worth more than what the Mavericks could have extended him. Last year in the offseason he took the better opportunity. The Knicks gave him the keys which is something he couldn't get in Dallas with Luka here. Congrats to Brunson for betting on himself and flourishing. The Mavericks mistake was structuring his contract so he would be an UFA at the end.

Mavs had his Bird rights, no? Which technically means they could have also given him his max. There is no rocket science about what happened. Cuban went full cheap again and they even tried to trade him in the middle of the season. I would have gone to other club as well.

Multiple things can be true. Brunson didnt deserve a fraction of an extension after the Clippers series. And the FO messed up the approach right around the trade deadline when he proved he was a great player.

Cuban **** the bed when he signed Brunson in that absurd rookie contract without the RFA last year.

Worst stupid thing ever.

The only thing that would motivate Kyrie is the full max contract. Kyrie only needs to look at Brunson's performance this season to decide if he wants to play with Luka. If the Lakers are willing to give him the same max that Cuban can, it's an easy choice. But if the Lakers F around and try to offer him a 1+1 deal, he takes the Mavs' 4 year max. Either way Mavs need to have a backup plan for Kyrie.

Malik Monk is who Cuban had in mind when he signed THJ to that god awful contract. Instead we got a D-league level talent. Mavs official page has been posting THJ pre game fashion fits since this morning because we missed the playoffs LMAO.

That signing still hurts, THJ should've been signed to 60/4 at best, and Mavs would've had 20 mil in cap space to sign Lauri who was begging to come here, instead they went for THJ and Bullock.
Brunson sucked against the Clippers, but THJ has shown who he is, a 3pt shooter, who shouldn't do anything else on court, I remember his heroics in games 3 and 4 when Luka was playing injured or off the floor, it was embarrassing to see him trying to create.

Murray and Jokic obliterated the Suns, Murray looked like Bubble Murray and Jokic ate Ayton alive on the boards with near 20/20 game, Suns must pull it together in game 2 if they want to make this a series.

Brunson can't hit the ocean from a boat, but his supporting cast is on fire.

Hurts less when Looney is eating other teams center lunch.

They should have gone harder after Poeltl than wait till the offseason to try and solve the center issue and I hope it can be solved via the draft. SF and PF also need help and we only have a MLE and maybe a BAE to use before we are stuck with trades and vet mins to improve the team.

Last years Mavs fans had a sigh of relief after going through Ayton and Gobert, to see Looney as a center, I knew what this menace was capable of, whether rebounding wise, or to bother Luka on the switch, Ayton and Gobert were legit much easier targets for Luka than Looney, really underrated player, he won the game for the Warriors yesterday, Steph went off scoring wise, but in the 3rd, when the Ws were missing everything, he kept giving them another chances to convert, while eating Sabonis on defense.

Bad shooting game by KD and CP3 injuried... Jokic destroyed Ayton. Again.

Denver is solid, Gordon should be the perfect fit here.

Denver and Suns each have 4 max players.
Cuban have to spend money.

With Ayton laying an egg again, it doesn't make sense for the Mavs to even consider getting him. Not even Poetl. Jokic would run circles around those guys. I'd like the Mavs to make a run at getting Siakam.
