I don’t know if you should pat yourself on the back yet, he hasn’t really done anything in this league except fill up the stat sheet on bad teams. They’ve been one of the worst defenses and he’s a big contributor to that. He hasn’t improved on his shooting either. He’s got a lot going for him and will be around the league for a long time but I question whether he’ll actually contribute to winning.

Is Poole contributing to winning because he happens to be on GS? Would he be contributing to winning in Charlotte? Would LaMelo be contributing to winning if he swapped places with Poole (or Wiseman)?

I felt like JP hurt us in the finals more than he helped us. Don’t think he helps us that much in the regular season either. He eats up bad teams but otherwise he has a long way to go.

Probably the only remotely promising thing to come out of the last game was Moody showing he can hang around. Flash in the pan or answer to our prayers? How long will his next appearance be?

Huge props to Moses for staying ready and giving decent minutes in maybe the biggest leverage situation of his career.

Warriors needed rebounding, Moody strength is fighting for rebounding.

Said it a million times, but Moody should have been in the rotation all year.

Kuminga and Moody should have gotten every single Lamb minute this year. And at the very least, they are reason enough for not signing Lamb and keeping Jerome instead. With Donte and Poole playing poorly, we actually needed a 3rd PG like Jerome to get some minutes last night. Instead, Lamb is on the bench serving zero purpose because we already have Joku and Moody for that role.

I pointed this out towards the end of the season. “If healthy” we were more likely to need additional point guard minutes than additional undersized forward minutes. But then Wiggins was out and Andre cripped up and we needed the wing body in the short run.

I thought the Steph, GP, Moody, Wiggs, Looney lineup was the best lineup all night. They actually play defense and get boards.

Sure, he’s okay in the playoffs in must win games, on the big stage. But what about those February games when Kerr nails him to the bench?
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Has Kerr been keeping Moody a secret weapon to unleash this whole time?

If he has, Kerr must have been involved in the moon landing hoax, genius level hidden secret.

Moody was playing without a lot of confidence for much of the season.

Maybe that was due to inconsistent playing time but there's a reason why Jerome and Lamb got more run.

They've had to play Moody more out of necessity, with minutes being controlled for Wiggins an GP2 and now the Draymond suspension.

He's hit a couple of shots, which he's going to need to do to keep getting minutes.

Love his instincts in terms of when to shoot and when to cut/drive

Usually when you can’t figure out why a guy plays over more talented players it’s because he plays better team defense. Lamb is also a decent playmaker and those other two guys aren’t.

What a boss. I had my doubts this season but he really does seem to have been figuring things out.

Two years ago, the same exact thing was being said about Poole. Not saying that Moody will pan out as well offensively - he won't. But, I could see Moody becoming a decent defensive player. That said, as someone else suggested, Trey Murphy and his nearly 50/40/90 stat line was also available at the #14 pick.
What’s Moody in the playoffs? 60/45/100? Definitely one of the worst players in the league.

Moody improved a lot and now being more capable than JK but it does not change the fact he was terrible in the RS, -2.7 EPM and -2.6 BPM , -3 RAPTORS rating for the entire year.

If he turns his game around after the PS that's fantastic news for us but need to see more from him from PS.

Just mindblowing that he & Kuminga played so little in the regular season despite Wiggins missing 50 or so games and Curry another 30 or so.

They should definitely be surefire rotation players next season... come on, coaching staff.

Not sure anyone caught it but Kerr when asked about Kuminga by MT mentioned how Moody improved a lot in the last three months which is why he got back into the rotation.

BS coachspeak - how would he know if Moody "improved' if he never actually played him?

There are things like practice sessions and improvement could be things like attitude, showing improved understanding of defensive rotations, better attitude.

But yeah, you know better than a HoF coach about his own team.
