Morning after thoughts:

I liked how we made an effort to score in the paint, and I like that we were strong on the offensive boards.

Our defense obviously could have been better, but taking a glance at the boxscore morning after, turnovers killed us and played in to Philly's offensive success. I like how the Jays scored 62 on 22-35 shooting.

16 turnovers to 6 turnovers, Marcus & Jaylen in particular combined for 10 turnovers (vs 11 assists). Sixers entire team combined for 6 turnovers. Pretty sure this played in to Philly's offensive success.

Both Marcus & Jaylen played relatively well, ofc. Marcus came up with big plays late in the game, Jaylen was ultra efficient, shooting 8-10.

Early in the season we were talking/seeing Jaylen used more as a finisher and less as a ballhandler - this was def a game where we would have been better served perhaps with Jaylen handling the ball less, also a game where his teammates should have made a better effort to get him the ball in the right spots to finish, as he was hot.

Marcus has played really well as PG at times this season, but I feel like if DWhite/Brog can take over that role Marcus can focus squarely on being a pest defensively, coming up with hustle plays, finishing on offense where applicable.

Would like to see Marcus stuck to Harden as much as possible, partially just to bother him.

This has happened so much there is nothing the players or us can say to think something positive is coming out of this. “Learning experience”. “We’ve got to protect the ball and play smarter”? It’s all been said by the players and us. I’m a positive person and always think the Celtics will win it all every year. But losing all those close out games last year. A close out game this year. And losing last night to a team that wouldn’t even make the playoffs with the players out there. I think many of us have had enough of this crappy effort. People actually paid to fill up that stadium to watch that crap. Eventually you have to be realistic. Again we may squeak by but we are not going anywhere and it’s just a matter of time until we are eliminated.

Not a coaching issue, I strongly feel the young men on this team have a serious missing piece between their ears.

Been playing down for years.

I always claim that this is a learning moment...but how many times can I say this.

Listen to Chucks comments...he is right on the money.

I don't think Joe is a good coach and Ime was better but let's not forget this team was terrible at home last year in the playoffs, struggled to score and played drop coverage defense.

Considering Horford's been around a while, and Brown, Tatum and Smart have a ton of playoff experience they need to take some responsibility for this as well.

It's 100% up to the Celtics. The Celtics are the most talented team. If the Celtics give the effort and execute on defense they can win the Championship. If the Celtics continue to play "I hope they miss" defense then they will probably be knocked out in the 2nd Round.

If I were a gambler I would have bet on this game because its a mortal lock that when the other team is missing its best player we lose. We have no killer instinct. That’s not on Joe. What is on Joe is giving up 123 points per game in the playoffs, not playing your bench, not challenging calls and failing to adjust both offensively and defensively. Also to blame is brad stevens for failing to improve the team after he added Brogdon. We have one player on our bench that’s contributing right now. One! Al is getting exposed every game so why not change the D? I think we need more size in the lineup to control the paint and help with rebounding. Maybe start grant or rob or blake and bring white off the bench. Rob needs to step up

If this were a normal season with clear-cut favorites our mental fortitude in the clutch from players and coach a like would be a huge topic of discussion and we’d be out of the talks for who can win it all. The classic paper champion team. Luckily for us it’s not that kind of year and it’s wide open. I still believe we can hoist number 18, but damn do they give you reasons to doubt it.

Not everything has to be a nail biting thriller fellas. We can watch the occasional rom-com from 7:30–10pm.

I’ve got a friend who has slowly come around on White, after hating the deal since the beginning. Dude was just waiting for me to text how invisible he was last night though. He doesn’t even have a tough matchup so hopefully he bounces back in a hurry.

I’m frustrated at the loss, I’m annoyed at the defense, and I have some concerns about Joe.

That said, some of the posts last night were embarrassing lol, even for in the moment. “The series is over, it’s as simple as that.”
