Chris Paul doesn't play the rest of the series - will be his last game with the Suns and he will be traded on draft night

For Haliburton? :droop:

Enough about those 2 already. They'll be in the lottery next season.

That same Philly team without Embiid just went into Boston and spanked them around. Nets still hanged on to make playoffs in last 25 games with their new addition. If they have same lineup I see them making playoffs as 7th/8th seed but that’s not the lottery of course. All they have to do is beat up on the bad teams and beat some good teams and they get in.

Mikal and CamJo were and are trade fodder. That's all they would be. Now did we make the right trade? We'll see, but those 2 weren't ever leading us anywhere, just like they won't lead the Nets anywhere.

I don't get why your team is not running more pick and roll and pops with Ayton. He's making those shots with the high percentages. Especially when Durant have the off night , Ayton should be beasting in this series . I know he can't completely shut down Jokic but he should be averaging efficient 18 to 20 points per game easily, just put him in the position to do that.

and they were certainly not putting up those same numbers last year in the playoffs that they did this year. Mikal was 13/4/5 and Cam was 11/3/4.

it's funny that everybody last year were saying that we weren't a real contender because we didnt' have a top 10 player (even though that wasn't true) and now this year we have two top 10 players and they are **** on our bench.

Hmmmmmm

What's the one thing that links last years disappointing playoffs with this year's disappointing playoffs. Besides Ayton. Someone who's job it is to make sure things all mesh together correctly..........can't think of his name.....

The issue (at least to me) - isn't the trade. It's the timing of the trade which carried with it complications.

This KD version of the Suns team needs far more time to gel, so there's all this pressure being applied that in all likelihood isn't realistic or hell even reasonable. I mean c'mon we're talking what 14 games together? The rest of the West aside from the Lakers have been together all year. That's why I'm not going to freak the hell out if they don't win a chip this year - I'll wait to reserve final judgment after they get a full season in together. Not to mention the bench will have better prospects next year as players want to be in Phoenix to join the Book/KD pairing.

The problem is and will remain Monty because he's not what they need when it comes to championship aspirations. CP3 and Book have largely carried him past his major flaws. Does Ishbia have the sack to move on from him given that he's one of the major reasons KD wanted to be a Sun? Not sure.

But this series definitely ain’t over.
There's no way we're beating this team four times in five. None.

This is from just a little over a month ago.

2 of these guys haven’t played a minute in this series despite the bench being complete ass. Meanwhile sht players like Shamet got endless reign in both last series and game 1.

This was one of our best wins of the season and KD/Ayton didn’t even play. Yet we won. Why? The bench. Look who played off the bench and actually produced.

We have a leader, his name is Devin Booker. We need more than 2 guys to get double digit scoring along side him. Cam and Mikal sure look like dudes who can average 23.5 and 18.5 points per game in the playoffs. Would be nice to still have them.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Y'all are going to be pissed when you see what Dame Lillard goes for this summer. Dame/Book/Mikal/Cam/Ayton would've been a squad and a half.

I never expected a big run this year even from the start but the focus is where to go from here. having the offseason and training camp with KD will help with continuity, unless we make such major wholesale changes that we're back at square one. and then what? KD will undoubtedly play fewer than 60 games, and in the games where he sits we are down to one real star and no supporting cast given what CP and Ayton look like now. This was never a super team, even though I was optimistic about the trade because Mikal and Cam weren't going to help our bench issues anyway and KD still has a higher upside than the twins. I will have to see what we do in the offseason to supplement our big 2.

until Dame goes down with a major injury again. he's no more reliable than KD at this point and at least Durant is still tall.

Return to Phoenix Suns
