Good call

If only i put $2k down when he was at +800 ish i could have tonight bought and imported a Cagiva WMX 500 Desert vintage dirt bike from Italy without haggling on price :D

Haha that is a nice bike. Still time to bet on finals MVP. What are the odds there?

All the defending at GB swayed the voters and it paid off!

Nice job Eyeatoma! 8-)

If Steve Nash, whoops, I'm mean Nikola Jokic, wanted to win the MVP this year, he should have resisted allowing a 48 point game from his main competition, on National TV when everyone was watching ....

But seriously... hopefully Embiid winning this BS award, will give him some peace, after being so consumed with disdain after finishing 2nd or 3rd so many times to Jokic and Gobert, for MVP and DPOY. Now that he's been acknowledged, he can get on with being consumed with winning something in the playoffs.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

One of the most magnificent seasons in modern NBA history. 33.1 pts, 10.2 reb, 4.2 ast on 65.5 TS%. The best scoring season at that efficiency since Steph's MVP in 2016 when he averaged 30.1 on 66.9 TS%.

- He has three 50 point games in a single season, most at his position since Kareem

- Most PPG on 50% shooting since MJ

- Had 59/11/8 with a steal and 7 blocks earlier this season, which is a top 10 regular season game score performance ever

- 47/18/5 with 3 steals and 2 blocks on national television against Denver. 52/11/6 on 20/25 shooting when he dissected Boston. Been ridiculous in the clutch this season, has hit like 6 game winners or go ahead shots late in 4th quarters - including multiple game saving blocks. Leaps improved as a playmaker and at reading double teams.

And while most of his plaudits are given on the offensive end, he's also anchoring a top 10 defense while being 90th+ percentile in most rim deterrent metrics. To me he is the most important and talented defender of any of the candidates as he is the anchor and pillar of the 76ers defense.

From missing the first two seasons of his career due to a broken navicular bone, to his younger brother dying in an accident that made him so depressed he almost quit professional basketball, to winning his second straight scoring title and league MVP.

He is one of the greatest to ever step onto the hardwood, and the scary part is that I don't think he's peaked yet.

Next season we will need to load manage him more and modify a bit the way he lands, stop with the chasedown blocks for example.

I keep asking this, but are you back, or are you still on your Tobi hiatus? Great post btw!

Just giving Joel some love. Tobias... I'm still watching this guy under an electron microscope, but the 'agenda' is postponed until after we win this championship. His 3 point attempt volume is still really concerning, and I don't think he'll ever be a plus defender - but he's moving his feet. If he can continue to take and make those looks like the 3 on the swing from Harden to tie it at 107 in game 1 then it's whatever.

Also for comradery and leadership stuff, he's a good guy.

Please be back we need you here. We wont say anything good about Tobi. I’ll be in charge of that.

Gotcha man, nice to have you back, even if it's only for a brief time. Hope you're here more often now. Yeah Tobi has been better than I expected this year. His defense can be underrated at times, he had a lul towards the end of the season but really helped us against Brooklyn. Key for him is to hit a 3 every time he catches it, or take it obviously, not hesitating is the most important thing. Not sure he'll ever be great there, but it is what it is.

He keeps landing on his left leg. From jumpers, blocks and drives.

Yeah but obviously a chasedown block will put much more pressure on his leg, because he jumps much higher.

Holy crap the general board is TOXIC! The comments on there are straight up depressing. Everyone throwing racism at each other. I'll stay right here and argue about Doc Rivers with you guys. MAN! That place sucks! Those people need Jesus. I literally just went over there to take a look. It's a warzone led by Boston fans. I swear they are the most delusional fans in all of sports.

Yea, it's pretty bad. It's people trying to get +1s in the name of trash talking. Mix that with every awful fan base converging and you have the current state of the general board.

This board is infinitely better than anywhere else I've seen on the site. Generally realistic (possibly slightly negative) on the team's outlook but with a wide range of opinions that can, for the most part, be argued in a civilized fashion.

I just went to look at the thread out of morbid curiosity and the first post I saw was this from a Raptors fan:

But this is a stretch. I don't like Embiid because he flops, he whines, he's a hypocrite, he throws elbows without regard, he falls without regard and in general is just an unlikeable person. He's an incredible talent and one of the best centers the NBA has ever seen.

Lmao, the number of orbital bone fractures Embiid has inflicted to other players with his elbow: 0

The number that Siakam has given with his elbow: 1

In all my years of watching Embiid, I can't really remember any injuries he's inflicted on other players, particularly with his elbows. Then again, Raptor fans are the biggest, most pathetic babies in all of professional sports and I'd be embarrassed to have to speak with them on a day to day basis.

Breaking my rule of responding to trolls, why don't you just STFU. You're leading the charge to ship him and his MVP trophy out, so please save your bullschiit advice.

Thanks for posting this. For all of us who were 100% behind The Process, this is finally real validation of Hinkie's vision, and the ultimate validation will be getting the NBA championship trophy from that scumbag Silver, who in one fell swoop almost destroyed a franchise with the help of his henchmen, the Colangelos.

So congratulations to St. Samuel for bringing us one of the top 10 athletes to ever play in this city.
