Tatum has 7 points, wasted a golden opportunity here.

Embarrassing third quarter. Hopefully Niang will be benched permanently from here on. He literally brings nothing positive if he is not hitting or shooting. Atleast play House or McDaniels

Too many easy kickouts and swing sets that open up lanes.

I’m all in on trying Reed + Embiid.

The 3PA defensive schemes league wide is not just a fundamental problem but also a philosophical one.

I do believe zone/stationary wing solutions will come to fruition in due time.

Yes it’s live and die by the 3 but I’ll always stand by my thoughts that the NBA in general are doing it the wrong way in how to combat it.

Im OK in retaining Reed at the right price. He’s good but we sort of overrate him. He’s still just a situational guy

Smart, Brogdon, and Grant Williams went nuts tonight. If that happens, it doesn’t matter how Tatum plays.

We have been looking for an Embiid back up for 5 years, we finally have one. If it was so easy, we should not be having this discussion every season.

He's also improving fast, the idea is keeping guys like that, especially for the current price. Not trying to keep him would be just stupid

You know this kills Boston fans at the game who were so eager to proclaim he's the true MVP lol

Boston shot their load. Natural variance should see us do much better in upcoming games.

They’re up 30 total points on us through 2 games.

The NBA in general don’t hedge as its mostly high pnr action.

Doc has to identify that Brogdon/Grant/White are not iso players so do not follow the ballhandler on the two wings. You end up losing your defensive structure. But that happens on every team, wrong identification on the actual threat.

Because Tucker cannot stay in front of Brown and can’t put a hand up on Tatum it’s better to go with Reed. Reed has the best motor on our team so he has the ability to move around and potentially mess with wing/ and high low action.

Look at the Celtics/Lakers even with bloody DLO/Schroder they do a better job of making it more difficult to get clean shots.

It’s right in front of you Doc.

Tatum is not our biggest problem. Brown and Brogden are.

I know i'm gonna get push back but the coaching stuff needs to think if Niang can play over PJ, you need spacing if Joel is gonna be static out there.

McDaniels is not gonna give us that and PJ isn't even getting the shot until he's completely open.

Brogdon was unbelievable. There needs to be an adjustment. You can’t let these guys get in a shooting groove like that. He shot like Curry tonight

if its G7 and Biid is healthy, the right answer is Tucker on Al. Then have Biid and Tobi defend their duo. Then Reed and McDaniels defend their duo off the bench. Thats what warriors did

I dont know why im calm. Part is i didnt watch a big part of the game, i had a meeting. And I kind of knew what happens if Biid is not assertive and deferring. You also are not winning 2-0 against the home team, specially in a Sixers-Celtics series.

A lot of people knew Celts is gonna win.

A lot of people bet on the Sixers. all these people lose their money because they didnt expect Sixers to lose more than 7-10pts.

“Biid is returning”
“Houston Harden is back”

We just need these guys from the media to talk us down, and we’re almost certain to win next game. ..or atleast G4

Just one game. Celtics shot lights out. (Heat stole one game but got murdered in G2 vs Bucks). It happens. Their 3pt% is not sustainable.

All we need to do is protect both home games.

Tho defensively their 5 all out is giving us trouble given the mobility of Embiid. To be frank, if we played Paul Reed this game, we would not lose as much because Paul Reed can switch on D. But it''s good to prep Biid for the next games.

Adjustments for next game
- Embiid needs to totally dominate the Celtics ala AD style vs Warriors yesterday. (assuming he's healhty)
- Hit our 3's. We are the best 3 pts shooting team in % and we will shoot better, way better.
- Harden needs to flip that switch to a scorer mode. We can not have a playmake one for this series. He has to.
- Play Niang NIL mins and use House instead.

Again, the main issue right now is that PJ oficially got Okoro'd tonight.

If Embiid is as immovable as he was tonight PJ is just unplayable because our spacing becomes minus infinite. In occasions like this you need to take your shots which makes Niang refusing to shot more stupid

Barkley made a good point. When Embiid came back in the focus was to get him going. That becomes a mental block for the team but especially Harden. Joel should just let Harden run it the way he did first game with the players and focus on defense until the last quarter where he can put the game away. That’s what you use your stars for anyways. Embiid already has the mvp. Who cares how many points you score in the game. What matters is keeping the flow going and having a smooth moving offense those first 3 quarters.
