Great team effort today lead by Brown. Even though Tatum was no existent, he also didn’t force it when he was out there which he tends to do. Was happy to let JB and others cook. Brogdon has been great for 7 solid games now and it was great to see White turn it around. If we can just get Al going, this series will be over quick.

We’re 2 crazy step back 3’s from being 6-1 in the playoffs.

Meh.

Of course.

Hey, it’s ok.

They will fail and next season they won’t go 82-0.

I got you mate

A Playoff loss is just slightly different than a regular season loss. But go off I guess.

No need to go off sweetcheeks,

You: "We're losing the next two games for sure amiright?!?!!?!?!111"

Maybe take up your issues with people who are actually saying those things you're ascribing to me (funny enough, I have not seen a single person on claim we were losing the next two games). Just a thought.

Mate, I’m horsing around.

What a game!
They played defense for 48 min, even when the game was over and that is a very good sign
Brown and Smart should share the cigar
Smart with a DPOY play, and Brown for lifting the whole team offensively
Kudos to Smart playing through pain like that, he cares so much, I couldn't stop smiling and being thankful we have him

About Tatum, he started the game playing the right way, trying to really create contact
Proplem was he had 3 early fouls, and when he came back, he actually hurt the team with his bad decision making
It looked like he was not a part of the team
When everyone were sharing the rock, he was focused on himself
His last play was to shot a stupid challenged three, followed by lazingly getting back to defense, and committing foul n. 4.
Tatum is a team player, but tonight he just didn't have it

Papa Horfie with a great game
Yeah he went 1-8 from 3, but had his badass mentality, not afraid to take shots and take Embiid from the paint

Malcolm was an assasin tonight
Grant had 0 mistakes in the game, shot well and played great d
Seing Pritchard at the end was so much fun

On to the next one!
Only 1 rest day between games for the whole series!
We are the better, deeper team
We have to want it as bad as them though!

I think the aggressiveness of Smart and Brown was reassuring. Marcus hit a bunch of big early buckets. Jaylen went at the rim consistently and was t scared of Embiid.

The sincere surely are satisfied with 1-1, and maybe thought Embiid could be a wrinkle to steal a game. But he seemed iffy out there, I really don’t know what to expect from him.

Also little thing, but Tatum not asking to come back in the game to start the 4th shows that he truly doesn’t give a **** about his stats, despite what the sports radio folk and some posters here say.

Enough with the excuses already lol. He had a bad game period! It’s not the refs fault he keeps missing layups euro stepping all the time. He just looked awkward out there on offense.
Why would he want to come back inside on almost a 30pt lead? That would be stupid. Stat padder or not. It’s been known already that Jayson shuts Jaylen out in the 4th, and try to take matters in his own hands, even if he was playing crappy and Jaylen has it going.

Your posts are pretty much never accurate, and this just adds another one to it.

Great game. Jaylen came out on fire (he's over 50% from the three this postseason). This is the kind of game we expected against the play-in Hawks. Hopefully there are 3 more garbage time quarters left in them this series.

Brown for the VC. The rest of the backcourt takes the second puff.

Now, for those who criticize the critics lf this team, if this team SHOWED up for every playoff game and played with this intensity, most of us won't be so bothered. They consistently play down to competition, take their foot off the gas when they are up and make absolutely bone headed decisions in the clutch. This CAN'T be denied even by the kool-aid drinkers here. This is not the first rodeo for this group. The fact that they think that these opportunities will come around every year drives us nuts. That they think they can 'make-up' for a playoff loss in the next game is maddening, especially when one sees how a Jimmy Butler approaches things. There is not enough of a sense of urgency in this squad, especially when the road is SO WIDE OPEN this year is just unforgivable, IMO.

Big takeaway for that game is white got back on track…for a a player who has had confidence issues which effects his game - it was big he didn’t have another stinker after a horrible game 1. Started slow and one of his misses was a horrible wide open shot that felt rushed and like he was doubting himself.

It’s good that he turned it around….2 bad games in a row for him could have potentially led to a bad series.

Good game showing the Cs pulling away despite not having the best game from their number 1. Jaylen for spearheading the offense and Brogdon for steadiness and the 3rd quarter torrent.

Smart was offensively great this game. The team's defense showed up.

I voted Tatum. Didnt have it going, only 7 Fg attempts.
It's good that a superstar can acknowledge he doesnt have it going... and stepping out of the way and letting 'others' carry you.

Tatum's only problem last night was the refs.

I thought it was a good sign that when he finally got that first 3 to fall (from the right corner), he looked around like finally these are dropping. It's good that he expects to make them right. He's not just taking them cause he knows he should; he believes he should take and make those shots.

Probably reading too much into it but yeah

I agree, there is a line..... But everything you just named is 100% fine. If someone wants to air out frustration, go for it. If someone was to fairly criticize the team or a player, why not? If someone wants to go borderline hysteria? What's the problem? If someone wants to look on the bright side and be optimistic, that's fine too.

I've never understood people getting so bothered or, trying to "police" *for lack of a better word* the way someone acts after a basketball game. Not saying you're doing that but people do that and news flash, we are not robots.

When Randy's team gets beat he might want the whole damn team fired, every time. When Tommy's team gets beat, he might get over it in a few seconds. When Brandy's team gets beat, she might just feel the need to rant and rave because it makes her feel better. When Larry's team gets beat, he might always choose to be optimistic about what's to come.....

And all of that is okay.

People can absolutely come in and express whatever opinion they have about the Celtics as long as it's done respectfully of other posters. That's the entire point of this forum after all. It's cool that we don't all agree on everything otherwise we would have nothing to discuss.

The issue is when people act like the season is over after losing game 1 of a playoff series, it's such an egregious exaggeration that it makes it hard to take their other points seriously. You'd think that after watching the Warriors, Heat and Bucks series last year (even the Hawks series this year to a degree), people would understand that game 1s are not at all indicative of how the rest of the series will play out.

There's also a subset of posters that only come out after losses to rant about whatever they perceive is wrong about the Celtics that day. They are perfectly allowed to do that of course but at times it reads more like people that are looking for a free therapy session online than people who want to engage in intelligent discussion about what's going right and wrong about the Celtics. That can be a bit frustrating for people that are looking for the latter.

It gets to the point where I almost exclusively hang out in very specific topics after losses (like the Begarin or the draft threads) because I feel like it's the few places where I'm not going to have to sift through a dozen unsubstantiated rants to find a post with an interesting information nugget/stat/point I hadn't consider/joke/etc.
