Leafs have only clearly outplayed their opponent once in 7 playoff games

To be honest that was the best game I've seen them play so far in the playoffs. It was around even from what I could tell.

I'd say this style of hockey bodes well for them over the course of a full series.

Dude is not even bending his knees. Just gliding around the ice. They should do something drastic. Take him out of the lineup for a game or 2. They wasted 2 periods playing him with matthews smh.

Can't expect every player to be a tough guy who will go into the corners to fight for every puck. Nylander hasn't been his early season dominate self, but he's played alright so far. Also Nylander is just a smooth skater and sometimes it makes it look like he's just floating out there. So far he's been pretty decent in the playoffs, but he can definitely be better.

Bobrovsky suddenly showed up and decided to play well after being crap for much of the season. Samsonov needs to be more consistent. Some good games and then some bad games although the team in front of him didn't help him much tonight.

I think Nylander was lucky to get some of those chances in this game and he sucked in Tampa series, but overall having a soft skilled winger on 2nd line is fine, and he isn't overpaid yet.

When Nylander didn't turn and go for it, and tried to set up shop instead I instantly though of:

Complete head scratcher.

Samsonov needs to control rebounds better. He’s given up lots of goals by giving up fat rebounds.

The Twitter guy I saw nailed it to me. Nylander never comes to a complete stop. Never changes direction. Never makes hard turns. He just glides and veers.

If you advance forward from that stillshot...he continues to glide AWAY from the net. In anycase...I don't think we'll see him on matthews line anymore which is a good thing imo. I think marner/matthews/knies scored on one of their first shifts together.

I think they gotta consider playing O'Reilly and Tavares together if Florida gets a lead in game 2. Stop messing around and load up.

I thought Marner was a no show, aside from killing penalties. But really, McCabe is just Dion Phaneuf 2.0. His decision to pinch was stupid and cost them the game.

I think overall McCabe has been pretty good since the trade. Sure he's made some mistakes here and there, but he's been a steady Dman and also he's providing some of that toughness that the Leafs have been lacking with their Dmen. If anything I'm abit worried about Brodie and Gio. Both have had their share of mistakes in the playoffs so far although Gio with Liljegren has looked alot better than Gio with Holl that got burned quite abit during the Tampa series.

Rielly and Schenn pairing on the otherhand have been pretty damn good when they've played together and maybe Schenn has helped Rielly in becoming such a monster so far in these playoffs. Rielly is playing nothing like how he was playing during the regular season and if he played like this regularly he'd be an all-star Dman every year easy. Seriously did not expect him to turn it on like this, but I hope he keeps doing it forever because I like this version of Rielly. :) 8-) :D

Also if Schenn keeps playing the way he has I'd definitely want to re-sign him if he wants to stay. Been playing pretty good defense so far and he's been a punisher laying hits on people which is exactly what the Leafs Dmen have been lacking.

For the second series in a row the Leafs look like the slower team.

Florida just capitalized on their chances. That was the story of the game.

Leafs out-talent them and their back-checking continues to be solid; just have to score when opportunities come (especially on the PP).

With the way he is facing and positioned here, it seems like he thought he was in his own end and ready to break out lmao. Completely brain dead, which is on par for him. If you watched him the entire game, he was skating around like someone afraid of getting hit.

Yah that goal is a problem. They had four guys deep and the only guy back decided to pinch.

Tavares was first guy to recover and had a chance to catch up but he stopped skating.

Someone needs to photoshop and put lebron on the ice pointing at the net a la JR smith.

Someone else pointed out to me Nylander on the fourth panthers goal. Go to 6:36 of this hilite pack and watch the buildup to this goal and Nylander's "checking" in the slot:
