Monty would be a much better fit. Can't see PHX dismissing him even if Denver knocks them out. They will give him next season (with an offseason including KD) before he gets the sack.

Not thrilled with how Monty has handled both Crowder and Ayton. Also Bridges popped immediately after being traded.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Seems like a bit of a premature move. Disappointing first round exit, however that did not necessarily mean sack the manager.

Sucks.

Nick Nurse damn sure wouldn’t have let Jimmy Butler average 38ppg in a playoff series.

Damn. I’m gonna miss him. Hopefully this pays off. Can’t say I’m surprised considering how difficult it’ll be to improve the team in other ways but he’s a good coach; won’t be easy to find an upgrade.

I'd be surprised if it's that fast.

whys that?

i would have expected us to have already had preliminary talks with a few folks before we even fired bud?

Just my opinion, obviously, but a week feels quick. The Raptors gig is still open. The Pistons, too. I know those teams are not where the Bucks are but hiring coaches usually take some time.

Maybe their guy is still coaching in the playoffs, too.

If I'm wrong, mark it down. It will be the first time ever.

This is where I'm at. Extremely sad.

Bud lead an era of Bucks Basketball I frankly thought I wouldn't live to see 10 or 15 years ago.

Thanks, Bud.

They needed someone to tell Bud he was fired?

Thanks Bud.
At the end of the day he proved to be an excellent regular season coach and a meh playoff coach. When his plan was working we were unstoppable, but even a small disturbance made us very vulnerable.

Seems weird to do it without someone lined up. I would get choosing Nurse cause hes different and available but wouldn't feel great about it. Not a Ime or Quinn Synder type hire.

Truly an end of an era for Bucks basketball. I'll always be grateful for what Bud did for this team and organization. Can't thank him enough.

Guessing Charles Lee will get a long look before searching outside the building.

Email by the Bucks say otherwise. It says they parted ways with him and made a very difficult decision. If it was mutual they would've just said that and let Bud save some face.

A stand up guy, sad in a way but it was necessary. Now we need to find someone better

Right decision and I’m surprised they did it so quickly. I would have waited a bit though, since his brother passed away so recently.

We badly needed a change but Bud will always be a legend for us.
still learning the game

I get it, but as I've said before I'm very nervous about firing the best Bucks coach in my lifetime. Think he probably got too much flack and raised expectations for this roster to a level most coaches would not have. Hope he finds success elsewhere and it will be interesting to see what we do from here.

I will also say that from a selfish fan perspective this will make me much more interested in the season next year. I would've been pretty mentally checked out if we ran it back with Bud again.

So it has to be Nick Nurse right?

Might have been Udoka if he just waited a bit, but Nurse is the only one I can see.

Unless they are going to go after Popovich lol.
