Will wish him all the best wherever he goes as long as he doesn't run his mouth like Casey did.

If Bucks move on from Bud, Nurse and his schemes are perfect fit for Bucks. Heck Nurse borrowed some of Bud's defensive concepts so there ain't gonna be much change! And they are a veteran team. No one Nurse has to develop and tolerate mistakes.

All the love to Nick Nurse. Best coach in Raptors history. Having the balls to throw experimental strategies at the wall, as a first year coach, in the playoffs and even the finals - that's something.

I think he's actually a great playoff coach, when teams get stripped down to 7 or 8 and weaknesses are hammered down repeatedly. But he wasn't so good at having a long-term vision. He could have gotten more out of the bench and even the starters with better minutes management.

It was time to move on but grateful for the 10 years he spent with the team.

In 2014, I was living in Regina Saskatchewan for a work assignment. I reached out to Nick to tell him I was a big fan and thought he was an amazing assistant coach. He responded and invited me to join to them court side for a bit prior to tip off.

A few months later, I planned a trip home and sent coach an email or text. Made my way down to ACC, followed his instructions and got a chance to join the squad for 30-45 mins before the arena filled up. Nick was super hospitable, and even brought a few guys over for a pic (Vasquez, Bebe)

Anyhow I thought that was super cool of him and I’ve always cheered for him. I’ll continue to wish him the best. Nothing has changed since 2014; I still think he’s one of the brightest minds in the league.

All the best Nick !

This kind of hints at a departure coming from team Canada? I could be reading too much into it.

The hate for our championship coach is odd?

No he's still under contract to coach team Canada. His NBA contract doesn't effect it.

Should be interesting when Raps meet Sixers next and how he plays our roster. May reveal a lot.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

100%. I criticized his offense and how he ran our bench.

But dude helped bring us a championship, our only championship. Anyone with direct involvement in that championship gets extra respect and praise from me.

What will be more interesting is the impact of a new coach and what he does with this team on the offensive end (hopefully minus FVV)

Even Kawai in his straight up 'peace out' to TO gets extra respect and praise.

Its also not just Nick, watching how all these recent a championship coaches are treated makes it glaring pro sports has a major accountability problem when it comes to coaches.

Oh man, Kawhi broke his body and reduced his career to win. I don't even care that he stayed for one year

Aside from the deep rotation, I'll also always remember this:

https://www.theringer.com/platform/amp/2019/6/8/18657848/toronto-raptors-steph-curry-defense

Throughout the playoffs, Jordan Loyd has been Method acting. You won’t see him on stage or screen. He’s not even an aspiring thespian; he’s a basketball player. Loyd spent the NBA season playing for Toronto’s G League affiliate, Raptors 905. Throughout the playoffs, Loyd has been playing on Toronto’s practice squad, mimicking the behaviors of different Raptors opponents. In the second round he was Ben Simmons, and during the Finals, Loyd has played Steph Curry. He knows better than anyone how ferocious this Toronto defense has been on Curry. “It’s hard for me to even catch the ball,” Loyd told me after the Raptors’ decisive 105-92 Game 4 win in Oakland on Friday. “I can’t imagine what it’s like for Steph.”

Head coach Nick Nurse had Loyd simulate Curry on their scout team. Loyd told me he’s spent countless hours watching film of Curry to study the minutiae of his habits, from his off-ball movements to his tendencies setting screens. It’s meant to prepare the Raptors for the real deal. “Jordan has been a true professional all year after a great season in the G League,” Kyle Lowry told me. “His help has been phenomenal.”

Will always have love for Jordan Loyd because of that. What a special roster. OG wasn't even active!

I thought Nurse was going to be our forever coach after that run. He was light years ahead of Casey, who was the best coach in the franchise by a mile at the time.

Despite the very talented and deep roster, I don't think just any coach could have gotten us over the hump. It's bittersweet how swiftly this ended, but Nurse will always have a soft spot in my heart despite some shortcomings he showed in recent years. The box-and-one is iconic!

Damn I didn't know that either but that's pretty smart. And what a humble and standup thing for Loyd to do.

Not sure what happened to him last couple of seasons but it always felt like he was at war with the FO and they weren't on the same page. FO brought out the worse in him imo. He's a weird guy you can tell but he knows how to coach and be innovative and beat super teams with the right pieces. Def comes across as someone who may rub people off the wrong way but I don't know if we'll get a better coach than him.. I hope we do.

He should be very warmly applauded when he comes to Toronto... his efforts also for the National Team...

Nick’s easily the best coach we’ve ever had, and who knows when we’ll get one as good.
