Re: Head Coaching Candidates
Jay Wright is an odd choice. What makes anyone think he'd do well moving up to the pros and that he'd be the right kind of strategist we need? The guy is an excellent recruiter and seemed to do very well at Nova, but we've seen time and time again that top tier college coaches rarely translate well to the pro game. Off the top of my head, the only example that comes to mind of one who really succeeded is Stevens, and that dude moved upstairs at the first opportunity.

I, personally, think it's because he's got a good head of hair at that age.

Lol if it doesn’t work out Giannis is gone.

Where can I see this commentary? Oh wait, every video on ESPN's home page every day involves Stephen A. Smith.

I agree that this Jay Wright talk is silly, but..."seemed" to do well at Villanova? He made four Final Fours and won two titles. Villanova was the best program in the country the last decade of his tenure.

They rejoiced after his firing.
In many ways, he is the opposite of Bud. Very willing to adjust on the fly, but also willing to overwork his players.
It was probably said elsewhere but Rilaman and Daver will love this.

Re: Head Coaching Candidates
I don’t think they would’ve fired Bud if they didn’t already have some good indication from Nurse that he’d take the job. It has to be Nurse. He’s the only available coach in Bud’s caliber and he beat Bud’s system in 2019 en route to a championship. He knows what needs to be changed.

Could be fine if the contract says he needs to listen to Suki.

Well your all time favorite Buck is from there so I see what you are saying.
You must be rooting for GSW to repeat.

I have Giannis and Ersan ahead of Donte for the record.

I absolutely love Jay Wright, but that kind of move is not one you make with a veteran roster and a small championship window. We need a proven NBA head coach.

Re: Head Coaching Candidates
The problem with hiring Nurse is the influx of insecure Raps fans that will descend upon this board.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Head Coaching Candidates
Atkinson is the guy. With Vogel and Carlisle (if he decides he doesn't want to coach a rebuild anymore) as consolation choices for me. Like Kane and Frank were discussing on the LOB pod, the Nurse love is predictable because people view him as the polar opposite strengths/weaknesses guy of Bud, but that's exactly why he's not in my Top-3. He's the most reactionary hire and I think that's the kind of decision this organization needs to avoid.

Re: Head Coaching Candidates
Not really bothered by Nurse "overworking" his players. Have y'all seen that roster? For most of this season, that was a 6-man roster. There was no depth. He had no choice. If the Bucks bring back a similarly deep team next year, I'm sure Nurse would spread the minutes around.

Re: Head Coaching Candidates
If Nurse can make adjustments game to game or in game even then he should be able to adjust to his personnel, Kawhi was load managed his whole time in Toronto to major success. Siakam/FVV/OG are nice player but they're not going to win much on their own carrying a team. Bucks don't lose to the Heat with if Nurse was coaching IMO.

Not sure how he would translate to the pros, but you absolutely have to recognize Wright as an ace development guy. The lazy axiom I've used in terms of college prospects is, when in doubt draft the Villanova guy. Generally, they're tough, smart two-way guys and many have become better offensive players than projected.
ETA: looks like my outback bredren already made the point go Birds.
