Refs tried really hard last night. Tony Brothers is definitely getting next game

Brown smokes it for locking down Harden and keeping the team in the lead with his gutsy drives in the paint. Tatum a good second for finishing the job but overall played a very passive game again. If only he had Browns hunger, dude would've been in the conversation for MVP.

Horford for me. Those threes he hit were absolutely clutch. Defending rim, going at Embid on both ends knowing how tired Embid would be.

Brown just as deserving for continuous pressure on embid in the paint and guarding Harden very well.

Smart was awesome too. Hige threes, great D/hustle.

JT just hitting big shots late like a true superstar. Not his best game but a good bounce back for sure.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Tatum has been pretty quiet, I think the Sixers are doing enough to keep him out of rhythm...And his shot looked off early on. I was happy to see him locked in the last two minutes or so. Brown has been a lot more exciting to watch.

I am often shocked when I see his point totals, seemingly quietly putting up 27 pts. I guess the standards for him are just too high lol.

They were not as bad as I expected. They were up to their usual tricks and phantom calls in the first quarter. But when Rob and others were getting clean blocks there was nothing else for them to call. Then we started to pull away and led like almost the entire game. Hopefully the league realizes we are much better than them and we get rid of them early. Philly’s style of basketball is awful and all dependent on Embiid and Harden flopping. If we get thru this round would love to play the Knicks as they play right and stay away from Lowry’s flops that the refs always get baited into calling.

Re-thinking about the game last night, I think the defense was by far our biggest reason for success. I love when Boston doubles Embiid not too early but rather when he takes a dribble or 2 first. Makes gathering and passing harder that way. But even when Embiid did make a decent pass, I thought we scrambled smarter and better than usual. While individual defense is always important, it's when the team moves in unison and covers for each other is when we are at it's best.

Would like to add that Smart, who has taken some Heat for Not being a DPOY this playoffs has been great of late.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Jaylen had a good game but comparing his "hunger" to Tatum is basically comparing apples to oranges. The Sixers defense loaded up on Tatum all night and on top of that Tatum is one of two guys on our team who can rebound so he's rarely leaking out for transition buckets.
Any case it's hilarious but also expected that people consider a 27-10-5 from Tatum on .603 TS% as a really bad game but 23-7-5 from Jaylen on .546 TS% is a superstar performance for the ages.

Also, they both drove to the rim 12 times, Tatum shot 4-6 on them and got to the line twice, Jaylen shot 3-6 and got to the line twice lol.

The entire idea that Jaylen is some aggressive driver and Tatum isn’t, just isn’t the case lol. They drive basically the exact same amount, they take the same amount of shots at the rim, and within 3 feet, they shoot almost exactly the same, slight edge for Tatum.

They just do it differently, and Tatum is doing it against a loaded up defense, so has to pick his spots.

They have no defensive scheme that works for them with their personnel vs us. The offense will be there. As long as we play defense hard we win, that simple really

I don't understand the Harden to Houston thing. Why the hell would they want him?

And then I've noticed Rockets fans think they're getting Jaylen too. They saw a rumor that the Rockets would pursue him and turned it into a rumor that Jaylen wants to play there.

I kinda don't think Jaylen is super excited to go to a crappy team to play with James Harden lol. And I doubt Harden ever wants to see Jaylen again after this series.

Nice win.

VC for me goes to Brown for his play on both ends of the floor and how he attacked the rim.
Also VC to Tatum for his all around game.

Props to Al for his best game of the playoffs so far this year.

Brogdon, White and Smart played well too.

Rob was finally active on the defense end and was a rim protector for the 1st time in a long time. Then he got hurt.

Finally a shout out to Grant. He does so much of the little things that go unnoticed. And he is tough as nails. He took a stump from Embiid and came back in the game 2 minutes later. I know he was coming back because that's who he is.

As far as coaching goes, props to Joe and the coaching staff for a really good coached game, two games in a row.
Been a big fan of Joe all season. Was disappointed for how he coached in game 1, but he has bounced back. I don't know
about how others feel about him, but I see something special in him, dating back to when he coached the SL team a few seasons ago.

It's not hard, you have 3 PG's, let one of them bring the ball up. Everything works better that way.

I've felt like this all season. We are a better team when Smart, White, Brogdon and Al handle the ball more and Tatum and Brown handle it just a little less. Get Tatum and Brown in better positions to score and have the guys with the better assists to TO ration handle more and set them up.

Exactly, just because Tatum and Brown don't start the offense doesn't mean they can't get touches, take shots, and be the focal points. It's just about the speed and location you get them those touches.

I think that the praise for Brown is mainly for his defense on Harden (crushed his soul) together with the attack mode he played
Not just the numbers
