yes...Billups...but apparently Scoot is not "crafty" like Billups whatever that means
I mean I ask you to clarify your comp yet you decided to insult me lol. But that's the norm for you.

And how can it possibly be allowed?

The minute they let LeBron found Klutch, the cat got out the bag and its never going back in.

As an admirer of Adam Spinella, I'm pleased he describes Scoot as a franchise player here in his latest mock draft.

I think Scoot is a lock at #2.

Agreed. The "Scoot might fall" talk was just to get clicks during the early draft cycle.

Yup, 100% a situation of overanalyzing and getting cute because they ran out of things to talk about. Scoot is a beast.

I wouldn't advise having faith in the Hornets front office.

I won't claim to know who he really is, what really happened or Miller's side of the story, but I'm kind of surprised the shooting that Miller was involved with doesn't seem to be a big issue for Charlotte. That team NEEDS a culture shift or if nothing else, good PR

Scoot's sisters played college ball and his dad coached. His parents have a charity that provides recreation for disadvantaged children. Steph Curry is mentoring Scoot on building a brand and on implementation of a professional training regimen. Steph too is big on giving back to the community. Of course Steph's father played for the Hornets and announces games.

The Curry family, Ball family and Scoot family are all basketball families.

I think the writing is on the wall and that media took Kupchak's words out of context lottery night. They asked the GM if he would select a point guard and he said definitely, no question. He looked excited and enthusiastic. Elevated even. But then he walked back his response and qualified it by saying the Hornets can be picky about positional fit.

The media discarded the first part of his answer which was revealing, and ran with the latter comment. They've been generating clicks off it ever since.

Also, in the mock, Spinella notes Scoot's "oven mitts" that glue to the ball. His ballhandling is elite right now compared even to the best ballhandlers in the NBA, let alone his peers. He's 18. The only other prospect who stood out to me with handles in college like Scoot's was James Harden at Arizona State. How are teams going to account for two players who can get anywhere on the floor with the ball in their hands while having the ability to read and break down a defense and make the right pass? Scoot and LaMelo have exceptionally high basketball IQ for young players.

He's going to be a Hornet.

I'm rooting for you to be right, but FWIW Givony mocked Miller to the Hornets today

not just this board. some popular mock draft sites are popping up with miller at #2. i'm not saying he will go #2 or should go #2, just making the point that it's more than just realgm posters saying this stuff.

been talking about this, his ball control is ridiculous, Kawhi-lite

I'm orbiting back towards Scoot at 2 personally. Was watching him against Birmingham and he had several drives that were pretty spectacular. I'm just going to assume he was kind of coasting most of the season.

Still think what I've always thought. He's gonna put up numbers initially, but we'll see his warts and limitations in seasons 3 & 4 when defenses adjust. The twins meanwhile will keep elevating in those years.

I still have him 3 behind Miller. 6'9 skilled guys are so rare and valuable in the NBA. Although a hood prospect don't see this generational or close to it prospect.

Funny I think it's likely to be the opposite where he sucks for a few years (ala Wall, Conley, Kyrie, Jrue, etc) and then ages like a fine wine.

Scoot has more talent than Miller, but a small guard like Scoot doesn't impact the game that much.

If you ignore the media annoited Devin Booker MVP campaign last, there are no small guards in the top 5 for MVP this year and last. Plus Booker is closer to 6'6" in shoes.
