No Cheesesteaks For Us! Game 4 Loss vs PHI 5/7 (Series tied 2-2)

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sun May 7, 2023 10:26 pm

Well bleep you guys that wasn't cool! Close but no cigar!! I'm all discombobulated lol. I had so many good tweets picked out for the victory thread!

We played hard all game but weren't hitting shots. Kept grinding and sent it to OT with an amazing 4th quarter. Then after all that our last second shot was a half second too late ugh!!

Not a fun ending lol or the result we were looking for. On the plus-side we got the split in Philly and regained home court advantage. This series isn't as easy as we wanted it to be, but easy is boring haha, and I'm confident the C's will bounce back and send Philly packing. Sixers played as well as they're going to play and they barely squeaked out the win. So don't get too emo, Celtics friends!

Game 5 is Tuesday, GO C'S!!

The most pathetic close game ending I've ever seen the Celtics play in the postseason.

In most cases you'd be happy if the team got home court advantage back but this team is so bad at home they probably had a better chance to win this game then they do the game on Tuesday.

The shooting was just so bad in the first half it was too much for Boston to overcome. Then you add in the fact that Boston was continually letting Philly get at least two or three opportunities this is the result

It's a shame we don't have a head coach that knows how to draw up plays because I'm pretty sure the last thing anyone wants to end regulation and overtime is a smart three but here we are

We will see what happens on Tuesday but Boston never makes it easy on themselves so I fully expect them to lose Tuesday then win game six because that's how the Celtics roll.

They tried to give it to us but our awful crunch time play was just too much to overcome. No team as terrible in the clutch as we are has ever won a title.

I don’t get the complaints about Mazulla here. Tatum calmly created two open threes for the last shot. Absolutely textbook. We were either an inch or a half a second away from the win. I don’t think a time out, letting them sub out Harden, improves on that.

Yeah well there's a reason why smart is wide open both times.

I was ready to accept this loss with little complaining until the end reminded me once again why I hate this team lmao.

Tie game in regulation - no timeout and we end up with a Smart three. Completely asinine.
Down by 1 in overtime - no timeout and we end up with a Smart three. Even more asinine.

This might be Joe's masterpiece.

Disastrous late game management. This is a group of players that desperately needs the timeout to get set and regroup. Why start in the offensive zone when you can spend time walking the ball up the court?

I'm done with him.

I’m usually not a Joe hater, but he really fumbled this game at the end.

Such a dispiriting loss. They wasted a sublime defensive effort in the 4th by Horford and Tatum, mostly due to lucly bounces that went the Sixers' way. I can't believe the number of defensive possessions we couldn't finish because we couldn't secure the rebound or a loose ball foul. The Jaylen mistake of helping off Harden was the dagger.

I hope this doesn't come back to bite us. That's twice now where Harden has beaten us. I didn't watch the 1st half, how did he get so hot in the first place?

Serious question. How much green Coolaid do I have to drink before I think our coach is an asset to our team?

By my count we had 5 different chances to win this game and put it out of reach..

By my count called 0 timeouts in that span

Not to mention could have easily done an offense for defense substitution...
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

It's not hard to create an open three after the buzzer

Nick Nurse is available.

Literally can’t believe what I just saw.

That was the Budenholzer special and he lost his **** job for that.

Worse playoff defeat since the Raptors one where Jaylen left OG. UNBELIEVABLE he does it again. Unbelievable.
