Tobi and Maxey have been dissapointing as I suspected though they have been active defensively they have been pretty bad offensively and them knocking down open shots is the only chance we have to get a win in boston.

Biid has to play extra minutes because of him.

Agree. It was Reed's worst game and Doc put Jo back in early when he doesn't have the stamina to handle it.

Reed needs to step up big-time in Game 5.

Yup. He inserted him too early around 9 min mark when usually its at 7-6min mark. This is aside from the fast pace we played in the first half.

Unpopular but I’d rather have James play 2 man game with Maxey or Tobi instead. The slip action is predictable already.

Another thing that would be worth trying in the Embiid bench minutes is let Harden play off guard, while Maxey brings it up.
- You don’t lose much because the PnR is only working with Embiid
- Maxey bringing it up give us a little more pace if the Boston D isn’t set
- then in the half court, give it to Harden in the triple threat position, where he’s a threat to draw the foul. Boston fans will hate it, but many seasons in Houston says it works.

Need to let Maxey bring it up just to give Harden a breather from full-court pressure he's facing.

Maxey bring it up, then get it to Harden to initiate the offense.

Maxey would be a bad poker player, he shows his hand too early.

If he stops his dribble at mid court he’s a zero threat and shouldn’t be on and if he starts from out there everyone in the building knows what’s he’s trying to do.

He’s got a great handle and lightning burst but it’s all for nothing when it’s either 0 or going at 100.

Over the summer he should only watch film of Tony Parker on learning to snake inside better and turning the jets on with a stutter step/out of the blue kind of thing when the talls are on their heels or not ready for it.

But the massive separation between the two was Parker had a midrange game, along with high level facilitating, dude was lighting quick and an elite finisher at the rim.

I do think the Sixers should give him a call and mentor Maxey. Dude was so nice inside 2:30 - 2:55 wow that was filth.

Maxey needs to work extremely hard in the summer to improve his game. He only has one speed and can not break down defenders other than using pure speed.

Cross overs, change of speed, deceleration etc.

What happens if he gets old and loses his speed? It would be not pretty.

Been saying this since he was drafted he's more of a straight line driver.

I’d really like to see us cut harder throughout the course of the game. We often do lazy cuts to clear out some spacing but it’s never threatening to the defense.

Morey did a poor job at the trade deadline. We needed another shot creator or playmaker especially against this Boston team. Tobi and Maxey are not shotcreators they are more of the 3 level scorer ilk.

He’s my boy and all but I do believe Simons is better suited to this kind of setup than Maxey. Despite what %’s tell you he’s a better shooter as he has the full bag of shots from range. DHO, PNR curls, most importantly off the dribble pull ups from screens or iso, moving 3’s the whole works.

Both are hot and cold but when he’s on he’s a flamethrower from anywhere. Unbelievably high 3pa average at basically 10 a game.

Notice that he starts his operation at the logo, the spacing and gravity of the shooting threat would be awesome with Embiid.

Who's the biggest offender....Tatum's pushoff? Marcus Smart? or Doris Burke?

The Tatum push off was awful, but Burke and Jones are by far the most brutal, offensive national broadcast crew I've heard, maybe ever. My wife and I were groaning the entire game - Jones' unending triteness, Doris acting like her every utterance is profound - virtually unlistenable. It was so bad I was longing for Reggie Miller.

Just trade him, let another team worry about his worth. Teams are stuck in mediocrity when forced to sign max money to such players, it's unfortunate because you can tell he tries and has heart but he just is not very talented compared to star players. He is the opposite of Simmons when you think about it.

Maxey isn't in the same strastosphere as Parker right now. He needs to learn how to find those small spaces inside the way Parker always could. Maxey takes it right at defenders, and if he can't win with his speed he has nowhere else to go. Major work in progress, and he could use a guy like Parker to mentor him. Also, Maxey has abandoned his midrange game and that little floater. Not sure if that's on purpose from Rivers and Cassell's coaching, but it's something he needs to get back to.

James Harden essentially saved Rivers' job today. If they had blown that game in the fashion it appeared it would happen, and then lost game 5, I think it might have finally been the end. Thrilled with Harden's performance, but I don't know whether to thank him or curse him.

The Celtics played like garbage all day, like a team looking to give this game up and get to Boston for game 5. Once they smelled blood in the 4th they took the game to the Sixers, and everyone but Harden and Tucker wilted. I don't want to hear a single thing about Harden and sign & trades to Houston or whoever - if he's not back next year, I'm in for a tear down.

It's really hard to imagine the Sixers taking two of three from Boston, especially when they require heroics from either Harden or Embiid to beat them. Was Tobias Harris even playing today?
