Honestly, I think it's defensible, it's like a college football team going for a 2 point conversion in OT when an extra point would ensure another overtime period. It's high stakes and from an objective standpoint it can make sense.

But high stakes require that you treat the situation accordingly. You need to have a play prepared for that specific situation. Your players ideally need to be prepared to execute something they have practiced over and over for several weeks. If you are not prepared, then you should be playing it safe.

Maybe I'm being unfair cause it wasn't an elimination game, and cause we were several tenths of a second away from a win, but we didn't get a shot off before the red light. And it was Marcus taking the shot.

He has big balls and was shooting 4-9 from 3, so I'm ok with that, but down one I'm pretty certain we could have done even better.

editing to add - on a little bit of reflection, I think the ideal play here is to try and get off a GREAT shot early in the shot clock (game clock), and if it's not there, then you call a timeout and regroup.

I don't think it's defensible. You need to shoot it in time to get a potential tip in at minimal if you miss. Joe needs to call a timeout and run a freaking play.

WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO TURN ON EACH OTHER FOR THEIR OPINIONS AFTER EVERY LOSS? Stick to the terrible ending (other parts as well)!

The loss sucks and takes away some of the good things such as:

1. Tatum's great rebounding performance and really good 3rd quarter.
2. Al's key multiple defensive stops on Embiid was amazing.
3. Brogdon's great shooting from 3 and good rebounding effort.
4. Brown's strong 1st quarter.
5. The really good comeback from about 16 down.

Except home court doesn't mean much to this current Celtic's team. They aren't that great at home.

We are great though when coming off a loss. We have been for the past few years. 100% confidence we take game 5.

Exactly what I said after game 4 of the finals last year.

Probably uses woke unironically as well

Stop, now.

Didn't take it any further but not sure how what I said is worse than him calling Tatum a beta. Whatever, I'll leave it be but not sure why personal attacks are cool when discussing our players/coach.

Yeah Joe is tripping. Brown tripping (WTH MAN?). Running the clock out Tat/Smart tripping. I'M TIRED.

I can't complain about that loss really. It came down to ball bounces and a Harden great shot with Brown running at him. BUT....

I think they had just flashed Celts had 2 timeouts and 1 challenge that just got swallowed in the end. I don't get why he didn't use at least one of them to set up a play.

Thats moral victory crap. It has zero bearing on the next game. They didn't do enough this game despite all that. Every game is its own entity. 76ers gave them a window and they didn't take advantage and put a strangle hold on the series.

I commented on the last thing I read. Also, attacking a person is different than a player who isn't going to see it or have a response to derail a thread.

Didn’t read any of y’all criticisms against our team. None of that matters.

Doris Burke willed the Sixers to a win. Nothing you can do about that.

Vacation. Not banned.

I'm not going down the warning path because someone low key calling me a racist.

Sorry fellas, ajones says we're not allowed to take shots at players and coaches.

Don't know what the **** we're even doing here.

You can take shots at the players/coaches and I call call you out for it. How is that out of bounds?

And again, I would love to know how what I said was calling you racist literally at all.

Come off it. You accused me of not understanding how to use the word woke, probably. Kinda.

How I interpret that is personal.

This has nothing to do with you disagreeing with my takes.

I'm not gonna dog walk you through this. Just go away.

Yep well said, its a shame the poor ending coloured a lot of the good stuff.

Al seriously dominated Joel Embiid mentally and physically in the final 5 minutes, like in a way I havent actually seen before.

Fair enough. All I've been trying to do is keep it on the game and away from personal attacks here but I overstepped.

I've been getting attacked for defending Tatum/Joe, and for saying no reason to dwell on the loss. Not sure why either is such a terrible take to have but my main thing is I don't think there is a need to personally attack our guys for losing a basketball game.

Lol. Why are you mad at me? I wasn't the one that left Harden wide open for a 3 with a 2 point lead or not call timeouts to set up a good play.

I didn't say it was a moral victory or has any bearing on the next game because it doesn't. The choke job once again by this team takes away from some good things that happened during the game.

What upsets me the most is were 7 years into this and the core still can't close out games.

At the end of the day, that's what it is. They don't close our games.

Yeah unfortunately that's true. Let's not forget this team had a lot of the same struggles in last year's playoffs as they're having in this year's playoffs.

I know Brown and Tatum are still young but at some point you have to ask yourselves these guys good enough to win a championship together.

They've got 2 MVPS and momentum in a best of 3. I still think we win this series, but its FAR from a lock
