Success of Indians Mean Anything Towards Torre Coming Back?

Post#1 » by SugeKnight718 » Wed Oct 17, 2007 2:14 am

I'm enjoying the lead Indians are building as I type, waiting for the Indians to OFFICIALLY go up 3-1. And even though the 3-1 lead won't mean anything, (as Yankee fans, we've seen worst) does any of you think the success of the Indians will be conected to whether or not Torre comes back. I mean if Yankee hierarchy sees that the Indians can possibly beat the BoSox, wouldn't that mean that it wasn't the Yankees, it was the Indians that were just a hotter team??? I mean if this lead holds up, and the Indians go on to win the series(   ), does that give more hope to Torre tomorrow??? I would like to hear waht you guys think....GO INDIANS!!!!!

the fact torre has not been fired yet (if we can call it that) tells me he is coming back

I don't think whether the Red Sox win or loss this series (or this game) has anything to do with how the FO and ownership evaluates who should be our future manager.

That being said, go Indians!

Torre won't be fired... You can't fire someone who doesn't have a conract. Isn't his contract up? So either he will be brought back or he won't. That's why they are not doing him a disservice by waiting. Unless I'm mistaken about his contract being up

Well, at least if the Yankees are going to lose, the next best thing to happen would be having the Red Sox lose too.

Yea, I'm starting to think the same too. I don't think they would lengthen this out if Torre wasn't coming back. Its gonna be tough for me, sitting in class while review for an exam in the back or my mind, wondering whats the decision on Torre. BRING HIM BACK!!!!

That being said, GO TRIBE BABY!!!!

Nah alot of people don't really know, but Torre is actual a "free agent" if you will. He has no contract. The question is if he will get an extension.

Agreed. The Red Sox losing would make me feel very good going into the offseason.

The red sox look tight, the indians loose, but again, the red sox have been favored all year, just goes to show as I have said, how hard it is to win, when you are the top dog, when you are the favorite.... It takes a special team to do that, special!!!

Hmm. I believe Torre will be back. It is too big a risk to let him go, becuase along with him leaving, so could Posada, Rivera and Pettite. Now i doubt Posada or Rivera will leave anyway, but just to make sure I'd like Torre back anyways. Those 3 players back Torre 100%, and teams are going to be willing to pay for Posada, Rivera and Pettite.

If the whole Torre situation doesn't work out, I'd like to see Giradi. He seems like the ideal fit for the Yankees job after Torre. He has gotten into the playoffs with a much less talented and younger team. He seems to work real well with younger players, which could help big time with the amount of young talent we have. He has played for the Yankees and knows what the Yankee organization is about, winning. He is young manager out to prove he can win, and seems like he would be a good option if Torre can't or won't be brought back.

Could Mattingly or Giradi co-exist if Giradi was taken as manager? Or would Mattingly likely leave?
