If something like Maxey for OG Anunoby is on the table we have to do it. Can always backfill the guard spot with a vet like Eric Gordon or even resign Shake for way less than Maxey will cost.

Just hope it's not too late.

Ding ding ding to both of you.

I think there would be interest on Toronto’s side as well.

He has 22, it's obvious he doesn't have the tools yet to understand how to exploit those mismatches. The fact we rely so much on him at this stage of his development is an indictment on the team more than him IMO.

Again, a way to solve stuff like this would be to make him run more off ball. He could easily be doing some of the action JJ was doing with Embiid, that of course require good coaching

Exactly. Maxey is like #7 of the things to be upset about with this team in this series. He's only 22 and shouldn't have the weight of a series on him yet.

Man if I was you I'd grab some Zoloft now, shoot I'd share my Zoloft with you. It's going to be a bumpy ride, but this team is going to win this game and the series. What's your birth age and your 76ers age? My birth age is 42 but I don't look a day over 67. :D

37 here - probably 55 in Sixers age. They lose this series and I'm heading into my 60s.

If you're serious about making a change as a team and getting past the second round for once, this is the game you win.

Going on pure gut feelings, I think we win this one. Role players have been bad for 3 straight games, Embiid hasn’t had an MVP type performance yet, and for once we’re the better crunch time team.

He'll always be a defensive liability in the playoffs because of his size. The Celtics are probably the worst matchup for him. I'm not ready to give up on him.

I'm usually pretty good at determining the winner on gut feel before the game, and I too like our chances in this one. This has the makings of game 1 where the Sixers were driven and the Celtics were somewhat complacent in comparison to their norm. I think you catch them a little complacent in this one as well.

Upsets are usually a mixture of drivenness by the underdog and complacency by the favorite. You have to have both, typically.

The problem in a game like this however is that if it's close in the end, the complacency will disappear at that point as they turn on the juice to try to win. It'll take a monstrous effort by the Sixers to overcome that on Boston's home court.

Tonight is the game of the season for this team. Play like it's the game of the season. Play like there's no tomorrow. Go Sixers!

I'd take an ugly win every day of week over a good looking loss. I remember when they almost gave the game away to the Lakers in the regular season and when they almost lost to Boston in the regular season. I was irate at Doc and the team. Today I love those kind of wins....truly I do.

I have no idea what to expect, but if the Sixers can survive what is sure to be a big early surge with a fired up crowd and be close at the end of the 1st quarter I'll feel very good about this game. The longer the game is close and we're hanging around, the more I like our chances. A tight game in the 4th quarter favors us, as all the pressure will be on the Celtics and they are not a good crunch time team.

I'm not ready to give up on him but I'm ready to give up on him tonight if he doesn't start well. Otherwise we need to try Shake.

It's just like the 2018 series when we stayed with Ben Simmons too long. Gotta try something different before it's too late.

Ball movement needs to be a point of emphasis tonight. We stopped moving the ball in the second half in game 4 which was one of the main reasons we blew the lead. No late shot clock FGA

I predict a Sixers W tonight and if Maxey or Harden struggle early, Shake should get some minutes. He could be our Lonnie Walker tonight

41.....I feel fine physically, but I'm mentally F*****. I've been watching since 1990 so in Sixers years I'm about 63? Then again...Clarence Weatherspoon, Shawn Bradley, Sharone Wright...I might be older.

Hey as far as tonight goes...IDK WTF is gonna happen, but I expect us at the very least to fight hard. We can't go in here to lose just because we get to go back home and play one. Try and steal this one tonight...So we can lose at home in game 6 :)

I think Maxey's man defense has been fine actually. He's competed on that end if nothing else....he, Harden, Tobias get lost off ball tho.

Shake picked 3 fouls in 4 mins the last time he played meaningful minutes, and that was in the playoffs too
