I'd do khris for poole

Both of those things mean nothing if he's trash.

He's not trash. 20ppg scorer on similar efficiency to Khris (better TS% the last 2 seasons). 9 years younger. Shut out by his teammates this postseason. Just entering his prime. Has a good contract.

He's been trash this postseason but it's pretty obvious watching the games and some of the interactions that have happened on the bench that GS big 3 has pretty much shut him out.

Khris is on the edge of being done. It will only get worse from here. If Khris walks, we're done. If Khris re-signs on a 3/4 year deal for $30+/year, we're done.

If Khris opts in we have two options: run it back one more time with a new coach and pray that Khris is in-shape and healthy, or trade him. I'd easily take Poole on his current 4 year deal > Khris on a new 3/90 deal.

Anyway we can get Kuminga including in that deal and I am in. Kuminga with Giannis would be incredible and the Warriors have no clue how to use him.

It’s risky as hell, but both those guys have a ton of natural talent.

His problem: Horrible basketball IQ.

One way to extend our window is acquiring young talent while you can buy low. I think Kuminga is one of those potential breakout stars that can be had at the right price.

Let's be honest barring a miracle we aren't getting a Luka or even a Cade Cunningham/Melo/Antman so we have to find diamonds in the rough that aren't being utilized correctly and I think Kuminga could potentially be one of them.

The same could be said for the Lakers trade and here we are. You have to trust that your GM knows what he’s doing. The established young talent is going to be too expensive.

That’s my read on him too. Doesn’t seem ideal, but Ben Wallace was a throw-in in a trade also. As was Khris Middleton.

If we end up with Nurse, I wonder if Poole would be viewed by Toronto as a *better than nothing* return for VanVleet. Maybe a deal where Khris (opt-in) goes to GSW, Poole to Toronto, FVV (opt-in) & Kuminga to us.

I’m definitely pro FVV but I might prefer keeping Poole myself over FVV and Kuminga. I’m not really sure but I don’t really view Kuminga as anything and I could probably go either way on Poole vs FVV. Poole is obviously a bigger gamble in the short term and FVV would blend in much better with the current makeup of the team but I’m not entirely convinced that’s a good thing here.

There’s obviously a world of difference between what the Lakers were giving up vs Middleton. It was a pretty low risk maneuver for the Lakers; they had zero chance at a title unless they made a miracle and they turned a guy that torpedoed their team into a few difference makers.

Middleton is one of the keys to our team, which remains a contender as it stands IMO. Way more risk involved.

I’m not against moving him, but the comparison to the Lakers is just off base.

I don't know how can have feelings one way or the other right now. He's going to have a role next year, but there are 3 big unknowns:
1. What does Giannis want?
2. What's his trade value now.
3. Huge difference is that role is pay an expiring $40m (where we can trade him at the deadline for multiple pieces) for 4/180m.

At 4/$160 he puts us into the 2nd apron restrictions and could sink the roster if the knee is bad.

I’m hoping the new coach has some input on incredibly important decisions like this. For instance, Khris couldn’t/won’t last under Nurse’s minutes distribution and defensive scheme. Can probably hide him better in other systems.
