At what point does this team become pissed off about losing playoff games at home? What’s it going to take to light a fire under these guys? It’s all about effort right now. to come out flat at home again is inexcusable . Something has to change regardless of whether we come back and win this series or not
"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"

Bucks and suns played in the 2021 nba finals - neither got out of the 2nd round in 2022.
Lakers and heat played in NBA finals in 2020 - neither got out of 2nd round in 2021.
warriors and raptors played in NBA finals in 2019 - neither got out of 2nd round in 2020.
Why should other team's failures make me feel better about ours?
Because it is very rare in the modern NBA to make it out of the 2nd round after going to NBA finals the previous season so maybe it's not a failure?
Is it really a failure for a 2 seed to lose to a 3 seed that has the league MVP? I don't think so.
Whatever helps you cope, I guess

There's a reason no one takes him serious. What a joke to be defending the Celtics after last night.

Boston was the favorites to win this series and win the championship. I'd say it's a pretty big failure, considering they had home court advantage, if they end up losing to Philly.

Folks do know our season isn't over yet, right? They've been strong on the road. Maybe they'll just bend over and take it in the next game, but I think they are pretty likely to win Game 6... an elimination game after after a huge dud.

Yep, and they had legitimately every possible favorable card fall in their favor.
Dodge Miami in the 1st round, get a very meh Atlanta team.
Someone else knocks out Milwaukee for them, giving them home court through the entire playoffs (not that that matters much for these guys.)
You play Philly with an injured Embiid, and lose a game he misses entirely. This is also a team you have always matched up extremely well with.
At the very, very least losing this series would be a significant missed opportunity. Everything went their way up to this point. Just no excuse.

They got more luck this year than last and still can't take advantage.
It's a joke

You know, if the Celts offered Utah two 1rst Round Picks for Will Hardy, Utah would probably decline.
If the Celts offered Joe Mazzula and Four 1rst Round picks for Will Hardy; Utah would still probably decline.
I watched over 55 of Utah’s game this season, and Hardy is light years ahead of Bubblegum Boy.
Utah deliberately tanked at the end (2-12 finish) to get the #9 pick and 45 lottery balls by resting all players with any sort of injury.

Last year, when they were in this same spot, I didn't look at the possibility of losing to the Bucks as a huge failure, even without Middleton--they were coming off a championship, and our expectations were lower last year. We had just swept Kyrie and the Nets too.
This would be a huge failure.

I could say the same about you - the most negative poster on the board. We'll win a game by 40 and you're nowhere to be found. Or, if you don't post when the team is doing well - you always have some kind of negative spin to put on it.
But we lose and you're posts EVERYWHERE.
Quite a shtick, indeed.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Hey I'll admit I can be negative but win or lose I still post go look at any post game thread.
Regardless you truly believe that this is a successful season if Philly bounces them?

The one thing about last year is that yes, there were some ups and downs and the home games were puzzling then but they showed up and at least competed defensively which gave them a chance. It’s clear the MO is now to take a roster of hot/cold shooters and come hell or high water, shoot as many 3s as possible. Defense largely optional.
I’m not super hopeful for this next game. The only thing I can really cling on to is they show up a little more when they’ve done and messed up bad but this definitely feels different this year. Have to think this is the first time Embiid really knows he can beat us. That chase down block isn’t something you’d typically see of him in series past.

It will be big failure if they lose this series and I would consider trading Smart and Brown if that happens.

I had put more effort into watching this game than the Cs playing it and I was more focused on a crappy horror movie I was simultaneously streaming

This was a very good if the the best defensive team just last year. This year, they are still near the top, but you don't see the same focus, commitment, and intensity on defense as they showed last year. This is mainly because no one is holding them accountable anymore. The players get to choose when they want to play defense or not. That's the big difference. It doesn't help that Rob is a shell of his former self, but defense is really all about effort, and we just don't see that in this team right now.
All this **** started with Ime. I definitely blame him for this disaster, all because he can’t keep it in his pants. Just imagine last years’ defense, with adding brogdon on offense??? **** Ime!
Heh, kind of irrelevant but I'm kind of "in" on the rich women around Boston that probably know some of these guys... they can be quite unfaithful

That's his thing... I had him on block for a while before I decided to take him off. Ever time I see his name I assume he's going to start crap but now I realized how ti happens. Doesn't have much to say to anyone until we lose lol

It’s over, nephew. This team is not winning a championship.
