Kobe Bufkin

Been quiet Bufkin, here is my take. Decent talent, very young. Not a player who would contribute early. A good game, good IQ for his age. Played a classic shooting guard off guard role last season. He plays off screens and does a good job doing so very similar to Herro. Body type and left handed and athleticism like Dragic. But I watched tapes to see if he displayed any point guard skills, he didn't show any of that last year. Struggled when he was trapped, and they didn't rely or trust on him to run offense. They kept a point guard in the floor. He was primarily an off ball player. Long but not very athletic or quick. He has craftiness in him and likely that is where is success will depend on. He is not Maxey, who is ultra fast and quick. Not a good defender, tries really hard thou. Makes plays at time on defense because of his length, but he runs into screens as a defender as much as he uses them on offense. Shooting is where he needs to be elite to max his game. Could he develop into a point, possibly, but it would be a long term project to commit too, Seems very coachable.

Bufkin and George is like a raw version of Dragic and Waiters.

Was watching games of Maxwell Lewis, and wanted to see his play vs better competition. So pulled up a game Pepperdine vs UCLA, and came away with damn this guy named Clark shut Maxwell down easily. Then I noticed damn this guy name Clark causing havoc all over the court.

So watching tape of him, he has a pro level game. He has a very good IQ, all around offensive game, elite level defender. The one big issue is his shot, his stroke is Lonzo Ball broken bad. Very Winslow like defender. Even thou his stroke is broken, looks a better shooter than Winslow. Has a good touch on the ball.

Average 13 pts, 6 rbs, 2.6 stls, 2 ast, 33% 3pt%, 52 eFG%,

Another player that I noticed on UCLA was Amari Bailey. Was utilized as a shooting guard, but I think he has the potential to flourish in the NBA with a role change. Put Amari Bailey in the point guard role and I think he would flourish.

6'5 (likely 6'4), Freshman, 11.2 pt, 3.8 rbs, 2.2 ast, 39% 3pt%

Mike Miles Jr, 6’1 guard
18 pts, 2.7 ast, 36.2 3pt%, 55.7% eFG%, 3.3 TOV

The nasty handles penetrating in the open and halfcourt, splitting traps and the offensives scoring package is nasty
Best handles I’ve seen in this draft so far

And from multiple articles he is a good defender.

My general rule : Sign Kentucky players (Cason Wallace). Also fits as potential longer term replacement for Kyle Lowry. Probably won't be there at 18 though. And ideally i think we would get another bigger guy.

I read the scouting report on Kris Murray and he sounds like our guy. Moves well without the ball, cutting, scoring without plays drawn. Can play 3-5 positions. Offensive rebounds seem to fall to him. Mobility, length, lateral quickness, agility. Older, more NBA ready but less upside. Could have him as an option at 4 next to Bam, or if Jovic makes a leap as PF, could groom him as eventual SF behind Jimmy.

I'm starting to see potential for Leonard Miller's game to translate to the NBA like Christian Wood. Christian Wood with a little more athletic pop and less potential headcase issues. Could be something...

I don't think he can shoot 3's, but damn this kid looks like well rounded stud. Look at those stats and frame.

Spo would just relegate him to small ball backup Center. We need players who fit alongside Bam in the front court. I don't think he even had one 3 point attempt last year.

I didn't go into my deep draft dive yet, but from what I can tell -

Miller easily has the highest upside for anyone in our range AND he plays PF - our biggest need (along with PG).

I'm not sure he's a 3 point shooter yet, which we reallllyyy need at the 4 - but he showed real shooting potential (high FT % is a better indicator then anything else).

Big athletic kid, smooth, natural scorer, can somewhat shoot. If he's a worker, he might be my #1 target.

Yea I'm encouraged by the FT% and his late season 3-point splits. His shooting form seems to be inconsistent and messy, but he seems to already be taking a concerted effort to fix it.

This is one of those dudes that was always an on-ball guard and had a major late growth spurt and is now adjusting to playing as a big man. His development over the past year in terms of playing a new style of basketball has been huge. And that was against grown men in the G League.

These are the stats from his last stretch of the season:

Dude was a full-on ballhandling perimeter player in HS just a year ago:

My real concern is he's going to fly up draft boards and not be available
