Oh and by the way, this isn't over yet. We need to stay locked in and bring all the energy in the world on Thursday to close this out. Celtics will make adjustments, and we need to stay sharp.

He gave great minutes tonight. If it exhausts him, so be it. If he can do it, give him 8 minutes every game with the goal of coming out of the game exhausted.

i just hope we play clean enough D on thursday. We already know how the refs are gonna call this one and the celtics are not going to miss their FTs like they did tonight.

agreed. also, just don't risk letting the refs blow their whistle when the shot clock is running low and some scrub like Marcus Smart has the ball in a tough spot. we bail people out too often unnecessarily.

Unfortunately the rest aren't allowing Philadelphia who could be the more physical team, to be physical... While Boston jumps through their bodies for rebounds and hacks them every time in the paint.

Pretty much

It's been exciting to watch Harden show up and dominate as a scorer, and that's necessary when the others aren't going. You hear from some that Harden would prefer to go back to being scorer first, and perhaps will return to Houston to do so. He's won 2 close games that way. But, you see why Rivers ideally has wanted him to play more this way, to be a point guard and get Maxey and Tobi going. Because clearly, the Sixers are at their best that way. They dominated the Celtics that way

Does anybody have any stats on how Boston shot last night in terms of open and wide-open threes, in comparison to their season norms, both in terms of how many were taken and the percentage of them made?

Trying to get a feel here for how "fluky" the game might've been for them in that area. If they took a normal or higher number of open threes and missed a significantly greater percentage of them than normal, that wouldn't be as attributable to the Sixers' defense and wouldn't be expected to continue Thursday.

Glenn was probably lobbying for Harrell and they talked him out of it.

I hear you, but it's over. I know the Celtics shot horrifically, but much was due to the Sixer defense and Embiid returning to monster mode. I'm not sure what adjustments they can make. We have exposed them - they rely on spamming 3's and Tatum or Brown iso, which is limited by Embiid's presence. Unless they go nuts from 3 or we turn it over and gift them transition points, there isn't much they can do differently.

As long as we get this Harden again, I think we'll be fine offensively. Embiid will get his, and it's not like Maxey or Harris did anything extraordinary on Monday, they just need to come close to doing the same. Short of totally laying an egg, we'll be watching the MIA-NY series play out with home advantage the rest of the way.

Love your post. I feel the same way. The Sixers broke the code in game 4. This isn't going 7.

Time to rename the X play.

Also, get Delly's old IV ready for House for game 6.

I’m still basking in the glory of beating their ass at home with the refs giving them every advantage. 2nd best Sixers win of my life behind game 1 of the 2001 finals.

Things are so desperate that Bill Simmons is openly asking Marcus Smart to play even dirtier on his podcast this morning. Absolute scum of the earth fanbase.

My eye test also tells me we got their number now, but I just don't want to jinx it yet. Until we prove we can close a series like this, I'm gonna be cautiously optimistic. :)

Not gonna lie, I was worried seeing Harden and Maxey out there in the last minute with the end of Boston's bench. Thought for sure one of them was getting an intentional roll-up on the knee or something from Muscala or Pritchard.
