Yeah changed that to LeBron, but honestly other than LeBron, who would fit in those categories?

I wouldn't put either of those guys on any team. Like I'd much rather put in Draymond Green.

According to the new CBA, new All-NBA Teams awards will be positionless from what I remember, so I wouldn't get too emotional about Jokic etc.

For me, these awards are kind of fine, Randle had 25-10-4 on 4 BPM on 5th-seeded team, borderline All-NBA regular season in my eyes, no matter how awful he's been in the playoffs past two postseasons.

Updated my OP, Randle is out, Sabonis is 3rd team.

If this is positionless I'd bump Embiid up over Davis, given Embiid's superior offense, and equal defense.

He played 2 less games than LeBron. Is 55 the minimum?

I don't think the minimum games kicks in till next season which will be 65 games.

I just don't see how Mitchell or Randall get the nod over Booker who is playing some of his best basketball this season, he should have been all 3rd team at least.

Happy Jimmy made the 2nd team. First time he's broken the 3rd team barrier. Deserves it.

This Lillard bashing is ridiculous. He put up an incredible season even though Portland floundered in the end.

Among players who were listed as guards for voting, here is how Lillard ranks in various cumulative advanced stats.

Win Shares:

SGA: 11.4
Doncic: 10.2
Lillard: 9.0 (10th in the league)
Mitchell: 8.9
Brunson: 8.7
Harden: 8.4
Curry: 7.8
Haliburton: 7.6
Fox: 7.4
Holiday: 6.7
Trae: 6.7
Booker: 6.0
Morant: 6.0

VORP:

Doncic: 6.6
SGA: 5.6
Mitchell: 5.0
Lillard: 4.9 (10th)
Curry: 4.7
Haliburton: 4.4
Harden: 4.0
Morant: 3.8
Brunson: 3.5
Trae: 3.4
Booker: 2.9
Holiday: 2.8
Fox: 2.7

RAPTOR WAR:

Doncic: 13.0
Lillard: 11.5 (6th)
Curry: 11.4
Holiday: 10.4
Booker: 10.3
Harden: 10.3
Mitchell: 10.1
Brunson: 10.0
SGA: 9.9
Trae: 9.8
Morant: 9.1
Haliburton: 8.3
Fox: 7.4

RPM Wins:

Doncic: 17.99
Mitchell: 16.05
Lillard: 15.47 (12th)
Fox: 13.57
SGA: 12.99
Holiday: 12.84
Trae: 12.44
Morant: 11.92
Harden: 11.89
Curry: 11.23
Haliburton: 10.01
Brunson: 9.77
Booker: 8.65

EPM Wins:

Doncic: 15.1
SGA: 14.4
Lillard: 14.3 (6th)
Mitchell: 13.0
Curry: 12.2
Harden: 11.6
Holiday: 11.6
Trae: 10.8
Haliburton: 10.5
Fox: 9.5
Morant: 9.4
Booker: 9.1
Brunson: 8.2

These are cumulative stats so already take into account games/minutes played. Dame ranks among the top 4 guards in all of them, and a top 10 player in the NBA in all but one, where he ranks 12th. There's evidence here that Dame should have been 2nd team as opposed to being left off altogether, but I understand why he dropped down to the 3rd team due to the team performance.

But to act completely befuddled why Lillard would be named to a team is to ignore the amazing season he had.

- 3 players wouldn’t be on these teams with the 65 game rule

- Butler there is a joke and just proves the votes simply weren’t taken before the playoffs started

- Mitchell should not be there

- Randle lol

- Lillard shouldn’t have been there either. Apart from some stupid scrimmage scoring games, he was average and lost too many games

Geez this era is a disgrace

As a Memphis fan, it’s best case scenario and why I’m baffled Boston guys are excited.

There was a decent chance he walked for nothing as an UFA summer of 2024.

Would much rather overpay and lock him in for his prime and figure out things from there as opposed to losing him for nothing. Just couldn't afford to not get anything back for him and you'd run the risk of teams lowballing in trade negotiations because he was unlikely to sign an extension before becoming an UFA.

Isn't that chance still there, especially if they lose tomorrow? Things seem kind of icy with him and the team/city, but maybe it's all negotiation tactics.

Not now that he can sign supermax. We are the only team that can offer it to him and its too much money to pass up for him.

He will sign it and if things get rough just demand a trade, which is pretty standard these days.

A center nearly averaging a triple double and getting the #1 spot in his division is on the second team. Sports in 2023.

We all know in hindsight now that Westbrook averaging a triple double didn’t mean he was the best (or anywhere freaking near) at his position.

Just give it a few years and Fake-ic will be in that tier as well.

The guy is benefiting from the era not focusing on playing big men. He wouldn’t be in the top 5 centres if he was playing in the 90s.

What's your argument? Team record? Or poor individual stats? 32.4/8.6/8/1.4stl

-had 2nd 32/8/8 season in NBA history behind MJ.
-2nd in ppg in the NBA
-only 7th player in history to be named an all star 4 times before 24yo
-broke franchise record for the highest single-season scoring average
-career and league high 20/5/5 games
-NBA best four 50 games (4-0 record)
-set a franchise record for a single season in 40 pts games (14), 30 pts games (44), also had the 2nd longest 30pt streak to begin the season, behind Wilt
-10 triple doubles (9-1 record)
-NBA best four 40 pts triple doubles
-NBA's first 60/21/10 ever

And now holds 3rd highest career ppg average behind MJ and Wilt.
