According to the new CBA, new All-NBA Teams awards will be positionless from what I remember, so I wouldn't get too emotional about Jokic etc.

For me, these awards are kind of fine, Randle had 25-10-4 on 4 BPM on 5th-seeded team, borderline All-NBA regular season in my eyes, no matter how awful he's been in the playoffs past two postseasons.

These are cumulative stats so already take into account games/minutes played. Dame ranks among the top 4 guards in all of them, and a top 10 player in the NBA in all but one, where he ranks 12th. There's evidence here that Dame should have been 2nd team as opposed to being left off altogether, but I understand why he dropped down to the 3rd team due to the team performance.

But to act completely befuddled why Lillard would be named to a team is to ignore the amazing season he had.

As a Memphis fan, it’s best case scenario and why I’m baffled Boston guys are excited.

There was a decent chance he walked for nothing as an UFA summer of 2024.

Would much rather overpay and lock him in for his prime and figure out things from there as opposed to losing him for nothing. Just couldn't afford to not get anything back for him and you'd run the risk of teams lowballing in trade negotiations because he was unlikely to sign an extension before becoming an UFA.

Isn't that chance still there, especially if they lose tomorrow? Things seem kind of icy with him and the team/city, but maybe it's all negotiation tactics.

Not now that he can sign supermax. We are the only team that can offer it to him and its too much money to pass up for him.

He will sign it and if things get rough just demand a trade, which is pretty standard these days.
