He played well actually and was key on that late game run with those defense. Tatum also didnt shot well the entire series and he played his part.
If we’re gonna keep blaming role players over our alphas, we’re never going to get over the hump.
I get your point, but Harris might be the worst finisher in the league, and might as well not even be on the floor offensively in crunch time.
You need balance.
You can put finishers there like Paul Reed and McDaniels, but you’re not gonna get shooting/scoring, there’s a reason why these guys are short and unathletic, they’re supposed to be high % shooters/scorers. Tobi is shooting 40+% from 3, Tucker should be shooting at the same rate on corners.
Im betting that we’ll always have this problem as long as we have to build around Embiid.
We can’t do “we need more spacing” and “we need better finishers” at the same time. Because most of our assets was spent in getting 2 MVP players.
You can have more balanced on the rest of the roster, if you opt for the Celts approach of having two MID high tier stars instead. But that was not the plan.
Tucker should be shooting 40%, but the fact is that he isn't. And Tobias shoots 0% in crunch time because he's nowhere to be found.
Listen, the roster is far from ideal, but that to me is where creativity in coaching can make such a difference. You have a game where it clearly isn't working with Melton and Tucker, while Niang has been a net positive in his minutes - why do you sit there watching those two taking 3's as the game slips away?
Why was there not a time out to reset the offense before the game was pretty much over? A legit coach is all over that game, making sure the right players are on the floor and the ball is in the hands of the right guys. We, unfortunately, have not had a legit coach in the Embiid era.
